Aha...I see it all so clearly! Apple's been trying since the very start to create a superior OS just so we'll all use it! Oh, we've all been had!
Who writes this unmitigated crap? The author has obviously never touched a mac, or he'd know *why* people might switch from XP to OSX. Seriously, guy, did you think/. was a pc-only shop or something? Like we're all going to sit and snicker with you at how silly those mac users are? If only they knew they were being duped into using a superior OS...
Don't let this guy post again. He obviously has no grasp of business, economics, or marketing, and has obviously never used anything other than XP.
This is true of so many "best practices." I recently completed a security audit of a firm in town, and both their extant policies and the ones we wrote for them contained numerous guidelines that they themselves admitted they had no intention of enforcing, yet they insisted on the guidelines being included. We tried to explain that including such things in your policy turns it into a farce, but they insisted on keeping them. How do you get around this kind of group-think?
My salary should be looking better and better. History shows us that the smart, hard-working people will always rise to the top. Those of us who *did* get the CS degree, and *did* apply ourselves to learning the difficult stuff, will be rewarded. Open that bottle of good scotch and toast our future prosperity! We happy few, we band of brothers.
What's wrong with using our intelligence community for making sure that our intelligence community is secure? Counter-surveillance isn't exactly a non-traditional role for an intelligence service.
Well, the original wasn't bad (as far as consoles go),and from what ive heard the PS2 will be sporting some pretty mean hardware.Of course, you cant do anything on a console compared to a computer, gaming included, but noone wants to take the time to learn a computer,so everybody gets consolitis, and the few people that know computers are looked down upon.I wouldn't trade my computer for any console, ever.Sure, you can play some games, but if you ever want to do anything else, your screwed.
Its all bunk anyway,so why argue about it?Im just lookin foward to telling everyone 'I told you so' on Jan 1st.They'll probably come up with another one anyway, but it will be nice for a month or so...
Lets see, about a thousand different times and places.Computers are just a good scapegoat nowdays.chat on 'em if you want, but if anything goes wrong no matter what it is,blame it on a computer.Y2K hasn't been a huge help either...
These things arent really that great in my highly overrated opinion.Cool,yes.A must have,no.Sure, they can make money on 'em by telling people they really need one, like home you need a Pentium III to "get the most out of the internet".Haha,yeah,right...
The anonymousness of the Internet is one of the defining factors. If you take it away,it would destroy one of the major foundations of the net.Sure, there may be some annoyances (as in the case of BungNut up there), but all in all,it is a necessary thing. The government hates competition.

Finally, after all the stupid judgements, one that at least bears the semblance of sanity.Lets hope this trend continues...
