Technology will eventually solve the pickup problem too.
e.g For same-city deals - mid-air quadrocopter-drone handover - complete with decoy drones and last-minute randomized meeting coordinates.
City airspace will be abuzz with these things one day!
To be clear - the network participants could agree to expand the divisibility as that would be uncontroversial. There would never be a consensus to expand the total number of Bitcoins, as that would be against the interests of the participants.
Considering that there are effectively 100 Million parts to 1 Bitcoin it doesn't take an economist to explain that you can divide up 21 Million Bitcoins amongst a mere 7 Billion people just fine.
You can hold a wallet with a balance as small as 0.00000001 BTC (known as a 'Satoshi')
There are at most 21 Million Bitcoins, but that's 2100 *Trillion* satoshis.
(The network could agree to expand this number if it were ever necessary too)
Yes. You can charge 0.00000001 Bitcoins. (Although it would generally take a much larger fee than that to get timely transaction processing)
If more divisibility than this were ever required, this could be migrated to, provided the majority of network participants agreed.
Increasing the divisibility this way would probably be uncontroversial if ever it were in such widespread use that it made sense - but other features such as the 21 Million limit would never get majority consensus to be changed.
I mean.. so what?.. Let's just prepare for the case where we spend most of our time immersed in 3D CG environments.
Optimize for that case and develop special goggles/implants to correct the strabismus for the rare occasion when we disconnect and want to take a peek at the naked 'real' world.
Who *doesn't* want their view of the real world overlayed with location-aware ads and their gaggle of facebook/skype/tweet messages anyway?
I know around here I can't be the only one who read that as Drivel Mage.
I assumed it was meant to imply some sort of wizard that cleans up your junk... although I guess the most appropriate task for a Drivel Mage would be to delete posts like this one.
Work on a test suite that exercises the code you already have. You'll discover new things about your code - and once you have a decent set of tests in place, you'll be able to dive in and refactor large chunks of code that you'd otherwise feel reluctant to touch.
Once you've done that - write some tests for some new functionality your code should have.
For some reason writing test cases has a slightly lower 'get started' barrier for me - and the rest flows.
"I did a quick google news search and the only link that came up for this story is the slashdot one. It's not even a story."
Yeah.. we wouldn't want slashdot getting a 'scoop'. Let all the other media outlets twist & sex up the story a bit first so that we don't have to deal with boring facts. Why look directly at what's going on on YouTube when we can wait for 2nd hand 'professional' media analysis hey?
I think I don't need to say this.. but I'm new here.
Well.. the one at
38 28'55.83 N
119 24 19.10 W
Show up on the new hi-res photos.. but when I look at this point on maps.google.com - it's not there.
So.. could be a recent crash.
For about an hour, I was using mechanical turk, as well as just flying around using google earth - and found what appear to be a couple of planes already.
One of them I flagged using mturk, but the other I just stumbled upon - so I reported it against an mturk image that had nothing interesting in it, but gave the coordinates in the comment box..
Now apparently there are a few plane wrecks in the area.. but is there a list somewhere of coordinates that have already been flagged?
The ones I found are at:
Lat 3828'55.83"N
Lon 11924'18.20"W
and
Lat 3827'2.65"N
Lon 11925'25.48"W

Any wine with lots of body and a good nose will go nicely with elephant or mammoth.
