I think you've got that backwards. Exposure to Perl almost certainly causes ill health, not cures it.

Have another vote for insurance, particularly car insurance companies. I think asking for any change to your policy must be seen as an open invitation to be ripped off.

Moving directly across the street, still parking my car in exactly the same spot at night, causes my premium to increase by £100, but later moving from parking on the street in central London to keeping my car in a garage in a quiet suburban town results in a reduction of... £0.

Despite it seeming to be in vogue to rail against a perceived groupthink in the discussions, one of the reasons I enjoy reading slashdot is that it never goes unchallenged. There is *always* someone pointing out the fallacies in the arguments that are based more on loyalty than logic.

Keep up the good work, and the scepticism :)

And how do you assess "the accuracy and value of the information present" that you're concerned with?

Knowing the source of the information can be be very valuable when assessing its value - this is where WikiScaner comes in. It's then up to you to judge whether (for example) Diebold were attempting to improve the factual accuracy of their own entry or to cover up some inconvenient truths.

What possible reason could a social networking site have for not appealing to the anti-social?
