Thank you for a very informing post. As the OP for this thread, I do think there is more to the discussion that we usually see. I've actually bookmarked your comment here, so I can read those reports you mention, as far as I can. I'm not a scientist, I'm a computer tech, so I'm sure much will be beyond me.
My contention with the demotion of Pluto isn't that a group of scientists have (again) changed a long standing definition, and I simply don't like change. My issue was how the vote was done. A group with an agenda stayed at a IAU convention as everyone else was leaving on the last day. They called a vote when they were the only large block present, and voted their opinion into existence despite what the other IAU members may have wanted. In essence, 424 members disenfranchised 10,000 members.
If the issue had been hashed out with the full membership, and then a vote was cast, I could accept it. Even if it only passed by 1 vote, I could accept it. But to have such a small group with an agenda make such an important decision is ridiculous. Quite honestly, the issue should not have been brought to a vote at all with such a small number present. Imagine if the US Congress was able to pass laws that way; whoever held the seat of power would call midnight votes when only their five closest allies were awake. Even if it was a law I agreed with, I wouldn't want it passed that way.
I used to have my sig say that the Libertarians and the Greens should form a common party, based partly on breaking down the government spying both parties are against. Split the government functions between the two like a coalition government in other countries. I sure would vote for it, even though I don't much like either party on its own.
No question, Hillary Clinton should not have operated a private email server as Secretary of Sate, but "people who've been caught doing exactly the same thing as she did" is factually incorrect.
Is that really the extent of what you have heard that she did?
All of the bills introduced in congress are posted same-day on https://www.congress.gov/. I don't know about the 5 days thing, but I think it is quite rare for bills to be introduced, passed and signed that quick. I looked at a few of the bills on there and none of them were passed in less than a month after they were introduced, and none of them were signed in fewer than a few weeks after they were passed.
If they weren't signed within 10 days, they become law automatically. So, no, I doubt they were all posted for a few weeks before being signed.
I'm not sure what you entire point is, because you write in a very peculiar fashion. However, I reject outright that forming opinions of people from verifiable third-person accounts is not misconduct. It is indeed how society functions.
I was in the US military. I never saw anyone get an IQ test, or heard anyone talk about IQ tests.
Unless you mean the ASVAB test we took before going to boot camp, I don't see the military wasting time trying to figure out how many geniuses they have sleeping in tents.
I completely agree. I just need to have the extra cash to get the SSD first. I want to keep the current hard drive as a backup to original state if need be. I don't know if upgrading to 8.1 will mess up that plan.
Plus, right now I still get to show people why version 8.0 was so despised. Most never saw it because they didn't buy a new computer when it was standard.
I bought if off ebay last year, when my Windows XP laptop failed. Windows 8.0 with no shell modifications.
I have fun showing people how horrible the interface is.
I'm going to upgrade the hard drive to a solid state drive soon, and then upgrade the OS to 8.1. This will be after Microsoft stops tying to hijack it to Windows10 - Spyware Edition.

Or Hackers, and thinks all data is in 3-D columns in those computer cases.
Just because you've never seen pussy ....
I still feel sorry for the rattlesnake that bit him. Horrible way for a creature to die.
Do you mean the FDR that sent over one hundred thousand Americans to concentration camps?
Why would you want a president like that?
As if Trump "does not have a lifetime of experience being a corrupt lying traitorous piece of garbage", you fucking dolt.
When did he give national secrets to our enemies?

So this is a case of "Skateboards don't kill people, ... "
I see that, in your knee-jerk hurry to post, you misspelled "Bush".
Time to get a new meme record, this one keeps skipping.

OK. Thanks for the clarification.
Also, if you get a 7, you have to then roll a d6 for its sub-excuses.
Nonsense. He's clearly wearing a coat that's a nice shade of green.
You make a good point, but why can't you think about the children?!

They don't have Saturday's where you live?
If it is composed mainly of Hydrogen and Helium, why is it considered a planet?
So what do they eat while that is going on?
If you want to feed a man and his children for two weeks while he shows you he knows his ass from his elbow, that is entirely your choice.

You need to get a life.
Says an anonymous coward on Slashdot. On a Saturday night. On a holiday weekend.

Because all corporate jobs are menial labor, minimum wage positions that could be filled by an untrained monkey?

How is "form[ing] opinions on many people we never meet in real life" considered misconduct?
You make it sound like I'm advocating physical assault.
