There are a lot of stories about hacking for hacking's sake that show up on Slashdot; most of them I just shrug off and don't even bother reading, because they're really just irrelevant.
And yet you've posted a reply to an "irrelevant" article that you never read...
I grew up in Medford too. Went away for high school and college. Despite my best efforts I was unable to escape -- somehow I landed a programming job in Ashland.
Once my threshold for pain was reached, I picked up and moved to Ashland. Medford's pretty bad for Ashland to look any better, that's for sure.
If Randall Schwartz came and visited your campus, would you describe him as "very bright" too? Or comment on how nice it was to take him back to his hotel?
T-Mobile and ATT offer GSM service across the US. ATT has good metropolitan area coverage but T-Mobile has the largest coverage area (over well-travelled routes such as the I5 corridor).
I'm using T-Mobile and my service has been excellent.
Mr. Schwartz recently gave a talk at Oregon State University about his case.
Just to clear up a common misconception, Mr. Schwartz is still allowed to vote. This right is only suspended for those who are actually serving time in jail.
I'm not a lawyer, but this answer came straight from Schwartz himself.

I believe this has already been done at Oregon State University. OSU Engineers Create First Transparent Transistor.

Heh, Napster ain't new...my university's residential hall network already blackholed it. :P
