It is. You walk into the polling place and vote for someone else.

In the third video, one of the people on the panel mentions that the PS3 returns the same 'random' number. If the number actually was random, then they wouldn't be able to find the private keys, because there would be 2 unknowns (private key and random number).

By copying and distributing the work of others you reduce the income they get in reward for their work. Take it to the extreme: if everyone in the world got hold of movies, music or software for free, why would artists and developers continue producing original works if they're receiving no reward for it? A warm fuzzy feeling that people like your creation doesn't put a roof over your head, nor does it put food on the table.

Hmm, let's find out. Maybe people will do it solely for artistic reasons, with no regards to a commercial return. If that doesn't work, then the worst case is we train all those people previously involved in the commercial side to work as something else.

What does this mean for corporate users of Apple for whom switching costs are high?

I don't see how this is an important at this stage, with the amount of solid information available. However surely the answer is either pay the money to switch (why are they doing this again?) or don't pay and stay.

  6. Why does a list even exist? on Finnish Censorship Expanding · · Score: 1

Maybe I'm missing something here but, if I had a list of websites that had child pornography available, I'd go and arrest the site owner rather than filter it. Is there a place in the world where child pornography is legal and you can actually host the stuff with out breaking any laws? I'm not aware of one. The logic applied here is like saying the government has a list of addresses for murder clubs, but rather than go and close these clubs where people murder each other, they'll just hid the addresses from you.
