Yep, you nailed it. It still boggles my mind why the USA would humor letting a human made machine count votes for people with human interests. That human made machine can easily be made to give out info as input by the programmer.
No country in their right mind should ever humor trusting everything to a man made machine. Especially, something so important as their democratic rights.

Nerds could be put to better use. Studying gravitational time dilation?
Money could also be used better. How about they build a UFO, and hover it over a mountain in Valenzuela. Then people would be all like "Damn, dat's a UFO. Where SETI!?" Because thats the only time they'll see one. *I know they listen as well. So we could pump Spice girls out of the UFO. YA! Decipher that "Tell me whatcha want" now ya money wasting buggers.

And that is a very textbook conclusion concerning the belt, however, the Russians refused to send a single human through it because they could not account on how to deal with how strong that radiation really is. If Russia could send someone somewhere, they would. I believe that belt may be stronger then assumed, and I believe the Russians may have been onto something.
But like I said, if the Japanese satellite can see the lander and so forth, then I eat crow.

We simply don't have the technology to see the lunar lander, lunar rover, flags or any evidence of a landing. Look it up. Thats why us skeptics are so happy that Japan has something over the moon, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But the belt of radiation surrounding the Earth would fry a humanm hence not thinking a 50's 60's NASA could keep men alive through it at that time.
