Since Installing 10.3.1 update, I've been unable to to use any logins that are taken from active directory. A bit of a problem since I use my windows login for my main account:/. I'm now having to login to my mac using the admin account. Anyone else having this problem?
hopefully this will be for more than just uni's

Hoefully this will also cut down on the number of people doing "can not fail" certification courses. I've always found these things insulting. Along with job ads that reuire MCSE's to even apply..for unix admin jobs, or janitors!
Never trust a computer proffesional that doesnt list computer as a hobby.
No its not. Though its been some time since I used any windows manager on Linux, Enlightenment was one that I did like a great deal.
My quote is about the aspect of self appreciation:)
I'm going to have to agree with him on this one

Linus on DRM

There is nothing horrible about the idea of DRM, its mearly what people are going to do with it. And before any blows my head, just remeber this is that same argument put forth to defend openbsd only yesterday( was it yesterday, I'm loosing track of time at the moment.)
I like that I can trust software to be what it says it is, I think its a step in the right direction to protecting againt trojans etc..
I dont want to be forced to do it though for every little thing that somebody thinks I need permission to run. If certain DRM can be applied to the linux kernal that make computing safer (and by that I mean actually safer, not MS safer or somebody else thinking their making me safer by imposing rules on me), then go right ahead.
umm the log in problem is actually one of the problems I'm facing.
The admin tools work for a while and then bam...cant log in any more, cant use the admin tools, cant connect to file shares..nothing. I can still connect, ping and even use web pages..but I just cant login.:/
I've been having major problems with OS X Server 10.2 thats driving me insane.
Thinking in a more unix way, I starting trying to hunt down the proccess involved..but all to no avail. I couldnt find any proccesses that seemed to be having problems..and was told by a friend in the know that my issue was more of a mac gui thing...something I know nothing about:/
A good decent book on OS X Server 10.2 would be really nice at the moment
Its important to note that the plans have only been put off till Novemeber. Yes, the Government was a little shocked by the ammount of attention the changes to the RIP act got. But putting it off till November isnt likely to be about re-writing the changes, but more likely to give the government time to smooth the waters over with MP's so that come November no one notices when its voted on and passed. The RIP act should be over turned completly, not expanded in any way shape or form.
I wonder how many people bitching on this thread first hit the link in the story, then decided to bitch about how people shouldnt be flooding the site since they couldnt get through.
All very well and good. But the vast majority of their business relies on E-Bay which may or may not, be developing its own payment system.. I'm sorry but the whole thing still seems on very shaky ground. Oh and it still aint great if your outside of North America.
I dont genreally play alot of games on my linux machines, and there is a good reason for it. My Linux box is a fairly slow old Celeron 300. It cant keep up with 3d shooters. What I'd like to see converted to linux are old classics like master of orion and games of that nature, maybe the odd RTS game or 2. If any knows of any of these sorts of projects, sing about them loud and clear. The old games that ran happily under DOS etc, these are the sorts of I want. Maybe a conversion the old Wing Commander series so that I can play games on my old reliable linux machine whilst my GF using my Windows box to us MS office..
I've often wondered how the out come of the EU case would affect the UK governments attitude towards its gateway site for government services.
Was MS dubious practices responsible for our being stuck with this system and could we now look to more open ways to connect with our elected officials?

Just make sure I can remove it should I wish.
Oh I agree.
I dont thinks probably the best business plan ever. An additional charge rate would be better.
Something along the lines of $10 a month for AOL users. $15 a month for non-members.
But the company has a right to only allow its customers to view its content.. thats business..thats capitalism
At the risk of being flammed to death, and no this isnt even a troll. I raise this point.
I'm a company, I've made some content and I only want people who are "members" and "customers" of my company to see this contaent..why cant I do this?
Sure it wil suck for the rest of us, but hell its their company...If you dont like it..buy stock.

A good point, and one I had over looked.
It does beg of conspiracy theories, mixed with the juices of a traitorous plot.
