    One must remember that a big element in Red Hat's rise into repectability and brand poweress was Intel's initial investment in Red Hat. As a result of Intel's involvement, SuSE could become an European version of the American Linux powerhouse in its own industry. I see this as extremely good news for both SuSE and the linux companies at large. Any investment by Intel (i.e. Apple in the very beginning when Jobs was in his garage...) signifies instant respectability and credibility...

    I feel that I must strongly applaud the European Uion for its actions as this is a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. Can you imagine the intelligence value of uniquely identifying every computer-generated message? While the serial number might not have had the involvement of the FBI or the National Security Agency, the EU are correct in realizing the potenital diseaster it could have if it chose to adopt a technology that is almost a "phone bug" for general use.

    When you start with something like 1.5 Mbit/s download, a 40% drop in speed should not make service infeasible. It is a good thing that the upload speed is not affect as it begins lower(?)

    I wonder how this will affect AOL's strategy to push the ADSL technology as opposed to bust into the closed cable rings.

    We could all just start sending emails filled with the "keywords" all day long - some spare mail pop boxes lying around and send emails like those in bulk to each other. In fact, one could set up a RC6 to expressively create and send bulk emails to empty spam mail boxes expressively created for the purpose of receiving these emails. It would not take too long until a system like this spy system will be bought to its feet.

    Considering that AMD is SCHEDULED to introduce a genuine 1 ghz processor in the first quarter of next year (jan?) by the time anyone buys the athalon cooled part, builds his computer around it, tweak it, it'll be early to middle december. Then a month later, the real thing comes out $1000 (at least) cheaper. How are you going to feel about that???

    Also, may we have a poll here about what we need a 1 ghz processor for besides playing quake and webhosting and cad?

    Look, I am a Christian too and it is true what you wrote that faith is the most important thing.
    And I respect you for that.
    However, remember the story of the Good Samaritan? It is also righteous to help others in need (especially when it costs you no money and only 30 seconds each day at FreeDonation.com). You are not really making a donation - You are channeling the money that would have gone into advertising to children's charities - It is not as important to life as faith, but it is not unimportant either.
    Please think about it.

    What about the quantum computers where each node is a photon? These have been in development and it might represent one of the key breakthroughs we will need for the neural network needed for spirtuality and emotions to occur.

    Each religion has its own characteristics. Since I am not Muslim, I do not see the importance of having to point east. However, to a Muslim, if a computer did do such as thing, it is not necessarily funny.

    You said youself that stopping hunger would be a "better" use of resources that the "CyberRosary."     This disply of CyberRosary brings up an interesting point - How close can computers simulate the human brain and all of its associated nuances? Would neural networks be created one day where each node represents one specific neuron? This might be one of the only ways where "spirtuality" and "emotion" could be achieved by a machine.

    Also, I believe that her phrase "this CyberRosary has chieved the level of spirtuality as the catholic children" to be a gross simplification of the process of spirtuality.
