Yes. There are cheaper ones. In the area I am in, specifically Highlands Ranch, good luck finding something that isn't a condo or townhome for under $300,000. I'd prefer to stay where I am. 5 minute commute to work, good schools, good neighbors.

That is true. I also differ than most Millennials in that I have worked for the same company, a school district, since I could work. I make decent money, but what is even better, I have a pension plan and am able to retire with over 30 years at age 50. We just have too many people moving here. There are a ton from California and Texas. A lot of them are here for the weed. No lie. There is one area of town where there are 15+ pot shops in a single mile. Legalize it in the US and have everyone stay where they are. And forget about trying to go skiing on the weekends, It takes a good 3 hours to get to the closest resort because of the traffic. And that is if you leave by 5:30 or 6 am. It used to take 90 min at most. I'm rambling here. I feel like an old man "Get off my lawn, ya damn hippies!"

I'm technically considered a Millennial, but I feel more Gen X than anything, 34 Years Old. I hate living in Cities. I prefer the suburbs or rural areas. My problem with owning a house right now is price. I live in the South Denver area. A 1200 sq/ft. home with a tiny yard where I currently reside is going for $350,000+. I recently sold my 496 sq/ft Condo in the same area for $140,000 less than 2 hours after it hit the market. Moved back in with my parents and am saving for a down payment on a house. Real Estate is just way too expensive. I could have rented my condo out if my HOA would have approved, (a whole other issue). A rental like that is going for around $1000 a month. It's ludicrous.

  4. Apple actually has a couple of great services they offer educational institutions that can help mitigate thefts. Their Device Enrollment Program combined with any sort of MDM server works like the Activation lock on iOS devices with Find My iPhone turned on. The district I work for has leveraged that and have not had one instance of theft yet. It basically bricks the device if they remove if from the school and erase it. We have it set up so they need to be on our secure network and login with AD credentials to be able to set up the device at all. It was pretty easy to set it up. We are using JAMF's Casper suite to manage them. It is fantastic. I have tried many times to break the lock in multiple ways with no success.

No, not the Simpsons this time. From Robert A. Heinlein's book Glory Road: "An insult is like a drink; it affects one only if accepted." I'd say this applies to any offensive behavior. I am the one who can choose to be offended or not. And most of the time it is easier to NOT be offended.

Firefly was really a Western. That made it more general interest in a way. Although Westerns themselves are dated and most people would not be able to get past the whole "space" thing.

  10. I am running in 2020 on What Would You Do As President? · · Score: 1

I have actually thought this out for some time. I plan on running in 2020 when I will finally be old enough to run. I am currently 25. One of my first orders of business would be restoring many of the civil liberties lost in the past decade. Until recently, it was abnormal to be required to show ID to travel between the states. Why should my government care if I am flying to New Mexico from Arizona. My main focus would be Social Security reform. I work hard for my money, and I believe I have started a good plan for retirement. Why should I have to give up my hard earned income to pay the way of someone who doesn't want to work.

I would put a greater reliance on the family. A lot of the problems we are seeing these days come from a breakdown of traditional family values. It used to be if someone needed financial assistance of any sort, they went to their family first. When growing up, my parents never relied on someone else to tell them I could or could not play violent video games. They used their own common sense.

A wise man once said there needs to be more religion in government. Religion, NOT CHURCH! There is a big difference. I don't car what religion you affiliate yourself with, be it Christian, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, or others. Every faith teaches something about morality and how to behave. It is when one blindly follows that problems arise. Look at these people that burn books because their preacher told them it was about witchcraft. Nevermind trying to reason it out for ones self.

I would reform education. I actually am quite pleased with the public education system, at least where I live. I also work for the district where my children would go to school. I do realize there are problems with the system. Privatizing it won't help. What we need to do is work within the system to bring about needed changes. Better science needs to be taught in schools. One thing I think my district does well is we try to teach kids how to think, and how to apply the concepts learned in real life.

One of my final big reforms would be to the current Income Tax laws. The tax code is way too confusing. My current favorite idea is a national retail sales tax.

I would be happy to hear from people about their political views and would be willing to share more of mine. Contact me at Cody.S.WrightSPAM@gmailSPAM.com Just take out the spam.
