You guys are explaining the behavior on 10.5, 10.6 is more intelligent about it. FileVault home directories will get backup as sparesbundles instead of sparesdisks . The different is the former uses mutiple 8 meg files. Up date only cache, only the files that contain that data will be updated.

Microsoft has become largely irrelevant in the consumer space... Apple and to much smaller scale Canonical about the only major tech company I can think that is actually do anything customer centric anymore... Oracle, well as I've said becore, "Oracle hates you and wants your stuff." Google... google has done a slew of bad things in the last few years. (1) Android is awesome, however Google was Apple's partner when the first iPhone was announced. Eric Schmidt stood on stage next to Jobs and talked about how cool it was. Less then a year later Google is talking about their own cell phone that will compete with iPhone. (2) the whole underhanded closed-door meetings resulting in google doing a full 180 on net neutrality (3) do a google search for "Tiananmen Square" on google.cn . If anything I'd say the new Axis of Evil is Oracle and Google. The Allied forces would be Facebook, Apple, Microsoft Canonical is the neutral

If they kid is so bad she needed to be locked shouldn't the school resource officer have gotten involved? I think so.

  15. my thoughts... on How Would You Prefer To Send Sensitive Data? · · Score: 1

One thing to keep in mind here is you are designing a system for a non technical person. PGP is a pain in the ass for anyone nontechnical to use. https is also going to create a every annyoing system for this HR person. You could properly set-up your e-mail server to require SSL with vaild 3rd party certs to send/receive mail and EVERYTHING to and from your mail server and clients will be SSL encrypted. Then make her an e-mail account on your system like cc-luser (if her name is Local User and she is a contractor.) Require only this e-mail be used to confer between her and the company. She is obviously used to using e-mail for this work, (and really it makes sense for this kind of information,) so this solution will minably impact her. I do agree you should try conver with HR and legal if possible to put it into her contract is libable for any damnaged resulting her failure to keep the information secure.
