I like the stuff you're arguing about. I've also wondered about the randomness of his historical points, using what will fit. Oh and it's the exact opposite for me. I like his voice:-) The pace, melody and demeanor is almost hypnotizing. He would make a great evangelical preacher. I guess he is in a sense.
I guess the problem is that what people have experienced goes so far beyond the verbally describable that they can't begin to coin the useful terminology. Mckenna has talked about this before and I wish I could find some written passages about it but I can't. The eastern religions seemed to have found great terminology for these experiences. I guess it's always gonna be regarded as pseudoscience but at this point in the conversation is where I completely lose all will to continue attempting any type of rational, structured argument (what little that was - I was never properly trained in such nor skilled in it)... so I close out with words, words, words, words, words, words.... primate symbol chatter.. meaning? meaning?
I concur completely... for me it was nn-DMT and mushrooms though.
it sucks that mainstream science shuns the use of such... I guess when dealing with something so hard to wrap symbols around people dismiss it as hallucination and psuedo-science.
his theory is based on these Chinese fractal number patterns called the I Ching that have independently reached the conclusion of 2012 being the end of some sort of era in space-time. I'd expect to be laughed at by most of the slashdot crowd, but nevertheless I'll throw it out there.
I smoked some Montecristo Cuban cigars I picked up flying back from Iceland and I honestly couldn't tell the difference from 75 cent gas station cigars.
I have a 2002 Sunfire. I'm going to have to disagree on the wonderful handling, but all-in-all it isn't a bad car.
I get frustrated at the "cheapness" feel that the frame and interior have to it and how it turns into a go-kart with the A/C on, but it has proven to be a very reliable car so far at 86,000 miles. The claim of 240k miles on one does give me some encouragement.
I average 25mpg city in the summer, 27-28 winter and 32-34 highway.
I can honestly say that if this isn't the way the universe works, it's the way it should work.
I also really enjoyed this book and should probably re-read it. It really forced me to re-evaluate the way my brain works.
I particularly like the way he criticizes some of mainstream science's inability to handle this type of study. I will admit that some of his examples on the mysticism were a bit out there but then again the whole holographic theory encourages explanations of such phenomenon.
as a veteran user of psychedelic drugs I'm going to have to strongly support the direction that this study is going. On my highest dose of psilocybin mushrooms, ego death occurred and I became a part of everything.
the mystery is much deeper than we all can comprehend
I live in Mobile, Alabama and that's what I did after Hurricane Katrina. It may not be the most efficient energy conversion but it did fine for running a TV so we could watch the news (and charging my laptop so I could dial in thru Netzero to unnecessarily surf the net). I will admit that a portable generator would have been nice to power a window A/C unit... if only i could have routed my car's AC blower to the house
I started ebaying at about the age of 14. the first 50 or so items that I purchased were done via postal money order. Prepaid credit cards are easily obtainable these days but they weren't back then. I'd get my dad to let me use his credit card sometimes, but it was alot easier to buy a money order.
I'm sure it wasn't too much revenue for ebay, but there are plenty of other 15 year olds out there and banking impaired people.... unless ebay is purposely trying to remove this demographic from their business as some sort of precaution or something.
I am bicycling across Iceland. I think a 40 dollar tent might be insufficient for the wind and rain, but I guess I will have to find out the hard way. I'm doing it on a $250 mountain bike. I don't think nice equipment is a requirement, but investing in higher quality gear certainly helps sometimes, though i could probably construct something with a tarp, stakes, and string if I really needed to.
actually I was about to spend $40 on a hiking tent when I discovered the site down. I hadn't seen the Slashdot story about this. Being the impatient person that I am, I went over to Google products and found a dealer with good ratings to purchase from... I'm not a frequent Amazon shopper or anything.. maybe once a month or two
they talk about waste heat from steam turbines and car exhaust... and human bodies
is the sun's heat not enough to generate a substantial amount of energy? what would encasing one of these in a sealed dark glass box at lower latitudes do... or even inside of a hot car for that matter
as long as they don't cum all over the U.S. and superman that ho?

homeland security would have filed a huge investigation and she would've been detained for a few hours
everyone would've freaked out
