What is the point ? If I have physical access to the machine I can induce the equivalent of a BSOD by unplugging the fsck'n thing. Why bother with a USB stick to make it crash ? Seems like an exercise in stupidity. I've discovered that I can crash your computer even if locked if I can get physical access to it by picking it up off the shelf and throwing it to the floor. I think if you thought about it a while, you might find that if you wanted to do some damage, that thumb drive might allow you to walk in, plug in, BSOD, and walk out without destroying anything at the scene of the crime. Think about it.

There are some methods that use flames to carbonize plants. These have to be used prior to planting.
But after planting, there are a couple of really cool options. One is using little waterjets to cut off the weed plants. It doesn't use a lot of water, but the plants obviously like water.
My favorite is a method that uses corn gluten to perform a sandblast action. It is also a good natural fertilizer. There are also claims that it is a good pre-emergent herbicide, but results have been varied.
The proof of concept has been performed - might even be in production by now.
Beats hell out of pesticides and herbicides that kill beneficial insects and breed superweeds.
Funny enough, a while back, there was a study, looking at Canada, that even a Liberal Arts Education usually resulted in better pay then not having one. It was something like $80k with a good degree, $60k with a lousy degree and $40k with no degree.

If I could get 80 K with a lib Arts, that would make it seriously better than all of the effort you have to put into an engineering degree. Many people working, and just because they wear. jeans and work shirts doesn't mean they are stupid and low class, or worth less than the drones in Human resources who have to "dress for success". Worth much much more in fact.
