I don't understand this statement "Tables lock your user into your content via your specific design" in that, how else are they going to view it? I've seen some very convoluted non-table layouts before, and I'd have to say, if they user was allowed to see that data outside the design constraints of the designer's work, it would be much more difficult to use. Maybe you are referring to how using tables makes it harder to update the layout, look and feel of your data on your site. I can sort of see that, but again, only if done right. A table layout is far superior to a CSS layout that is not thought out.
Just so everyone knows, I've not done a table layout in many moons, but I remember it being sometimes easier to put together in a hurry because you didn't have to think of the ramifications of everything you laid out. I still use a table to center content in a page on occasion if the content area has to go along with the page background, because between IE and Firefox (and other browsers, but those are the big ones I design for), using margin: auto; doesn't exactly center the same across browsers. It'll be off by a few pixels in one browser and not another, which can get quite annoying. If I am not matching the centered content with the background on the body, then I don't bother though, and I only use tables for data representation as well.
It was Firestone, a subsidiary of Bridgestone and they did got sued like crazy, and took a big hit... the biggest of which was the loss of OEM tire sales. Now most brands plant BF Goodrich or (eww) Continentals on their SUVs and light trucks.
And I have to believe that Firestone's tire issue was a manufacturing flaw, while anything Conficker might do, was intentionally malicious.
It's too bad people don't. Originally, books were written to keep a record of thoughts, things happening, etc., they were meant to be public domain to help others. To teach, to entertain. Now people only do things for money. Then we complain because our government does things we don't want them to do... for money. hrm.
Wow, this seems like it would be a good way for some miscreant to start passing around some diseases that we would normally fight off, and start some epidemics, by nullifying our body's means of defense. It's like reverse War of the Worlds.
I guess it'd be one way to allow for symbiotic partnerships with parasites too... mmm...
Yet he forcibly reversed Bush's policy on dealing with known terrorists in Guantonimo Bay and there is fear that that might have consequence as well. I guess if the US citizens are to be stripped of rights, we have to give rights to someone... might as well be terrorists.:)
Is it really an issue of Americans complaining because they don't know that other places have it worse, or is it more along the lines of, it's Freaking America and things are SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER HERE. Seeing the ideals that your country is founded on, the ideals that are supposed to make your country the grand place that it is, start to decay because of corruption, is what this is about. Sure, there are places out there that are worse. That's why people come to the United States...
Maybe we don't have room to complain because it's still better than other places, but then hardly anyone does, because there's always someone worse off. That's what our parents tell us when we are growing up. There's always someone less fortunate. Does that make dealing with the loss of integrity in your government any less painful? Not really.
Soon, the dark lord controlling Psystar, revealed shall be. mmmm.

What does this have to do with terrorists? Are these patterns aiding terrorists?
