Officials entered the subject's premises, which were then searched and all computer equipment and storage media found there were seized and placed under seal.
Why is it that they always sieze computer equipment in these cases? It strikes me as rather strange. I mean, if someone was distributing photocopies of a magazine from a car, then they wouldn't take the car off you after you had been caught, would they?
In the Netherlands they tend to be more respectful of the individuals rights, and you a bit more realistic when it comes to lawsuits.
Of course, they also had unbelievably bad customer service, and would probably charge you for re-connection after they had accidentally dug out your connection with a bulldozer.
Think about it. Transmeta has something that Apple didn't, and never will (probably). They've got Linus.
A lot of geeks are going to have a transmeta device high up on their list of must-haves, just to see exactly what he's been doing for so long.
There is another reason. Transmeta make only the chip, and not the whole device. This means that they are not gambling everything on one consumer product, but rather supplying others who will do the gambling for them.

I think it's a bit over the top to say that because one web site goes under, then the e-commerce bubble is about to burst.
That would be the same as saying that just because the shop around the corner is shutting, then retail is going to be abandoned, and we will all return to self sufficiency.
Also, if you look at Boo, and what they did, it's not much of a surprise that they went under. First of all they only targetted themselves at IE4 and NS4 or higher users, and for a long time the Mac was passed over completely.
Also, most people complained about the non-intuitive nature of the interface, and the aparrent difficulty in actually getting to the checkout (not to mention the speed, and MS office paper-clip inspired shop assistants).
So really, it's not that much of a surprise. As one news report put it, it shows that you should never put style over substance.
This is assuming that the Outlook API is used to access the address book. I can guarantee that there will be a method of getting the information out of the address book without triggering off the dialog.
I think you'll find there is quite a bit of coverage on BBC news about the little spat that's currently going on in Zimbabwe, as well as Sierra Leone. Also, in the last few weeks, there have been (to the best of my recollection) stories on the BBC about the following commonwealth countries:
Bahamas Bangladesh Cameroon Canada Cyprus Ghana India Jamaica Kenya Malaysia Mozambique New Zealand Nigeria Pakistan Singapore Uganda
Well, I think the oldest 3d game is actually 3D Monster Maze for the ZX81. OK, so there was no details, and everything looked like it was made of bricks, but it was still 3D. I'm sure there are some which even pre-date this, but this is the earliest 3D game I can think of (circa 1982).

The parrot sketch is cack! It is an overrated piece of late sixties/early seventies comdey, which while it may have been funny at the time, has certainly don't stood the test of time.
Every year the damn thing gets resurrected by teenagers who think that they are the first to discover it, and the rest of us have to put up with stupid quotes along the lines of 'It has ceased to be'. Well ha ha bloody ha!
Comedy is like news. The older it gets, the less impact it has.
PS, If you want to read the original unedited comment, just insert the word 'fucking' in front of the majority of nouns.
Apparently Bill Gates has been quoted as saying that innovation will continue. Perhaps he has heard a rumour that the DoJ are going to shut Microsoft down forever:-).
Personally, I've given up with submitting stories. Everything I have submitted has been thrown out. Then, a couple of days/weeks later, the same or very similar story appears via someone else.
When I worked at Levi Strauss a few years back, there was quite a brouhaha about someone who had registered the domain levis.com, and what they could do to get it from him.
The thing was they couldn't do anything, as levis is in the dictionary listed as an old medieval English plural for leaf. Because it was in the dictionary, and despite the fact that almost no-one knew it, there was nothing they could do.
They have control of it now, but I'm not sure if they paid for it or not.
If the sourceforge site is getting a bit slow, then try this for the screenshots.
Is that wank as in Metallica or Penthouse?
DOH!
That's the sad part. It's only a bigger issue because people don't understand.
Yes, but would they do that if you had copyrighted photo's in your car?
Imagine having spent ages downloading 'Enter Sandman' for your hold muzak, and then Lars calls...
Can't they take a backup?
No Metallica mp3's, no Penthouse Pictures. It's starting to look like everything associated with the word 'wank' is being banned.
alt.binaries.penthouse is the main offender I believe
Hmmm. Someone has been posting Penthouse pictures to a Penthouse newsgroup. I think I see a pattern forming...

...Microsofts does it take to change a lightbulb?
I think we're about to find out.
I just saw this this story, and I can't believe my eyes. It's just so terrible, and unfair.
I mean, everybody knows this story should have been filed under humour.
The BBC Have this story.
