  1. Why clone?? on Is Human Cloning Easier Than Thought? · · Score: 1

With today's society...why would anyone want to clone others? We have enough stupid people in the world today, so why would we want more??

  2. 3" disks... on New Philips eXpanium Will Use 3" CDs · · Score: 1

I think that the idea of the smaller disks is both a bad idea and a blessing. The smaller disks allow the player to be smaller (which is nice because you would be able to carry it just about anywhere you wanted to). But the smaller disks also would make it difficult because like many others have said you couldn't hold as much information on the disk. Being someone who likes music, believe me, I would rather carry around the bigger player which holds more information than a smaller player and about 4 more disks. That's just me I suppose. Less space but more costs. What 3 small disks would fit a single CD? Why go out and buy more disks when you could have it all on one? Also because of it being "newer" the price most likely be skyhigh compared to the "older" models. But then again, to each their own. Those who want the smaller one will buy it for their own reasons, where I will just stick with the larger models... ~Snflwer98

  6. Hmmmm..... on Remote Control Robotic Snakes · · Score: 1

I think that the idea of building robots is a fasinating idea. I keep seeing people say that it would be cool to freak other people out with the robotic snake..but think...If I owned one of these, it would be cool to have and NO COST OF FOOD!! I love that idea! No clean up, no food, no upkeep, but if it acted like a real snake, then hey, I have an animal that requires nothing..just the enjoyment of having one! Me

  8. The meaning of Life-Bearing? on Five Possible Life-Bearing Planets Found · · Score: 1

Ok yeah I think it is great to find other planets for us to live on. Maybe it would be handy in the years to come. But what I need to know is...isn't every planet capable of life? I mean, yes, for Carbon-based life (such as life on Planet Earth) there are only few that we know of...but what about life forms that we don't know of yet. I would love to find a way to get off this thing they call Planet Earth. If they were giving the public a shuttle to that newly found planet to get check it out, I would be one of the first people to ask to join the flight. But what does everyone else think? Should we go and invade a planet that might have a history of other species? Or should we just stick to what we were given? Who knows...maybe by the 5000's we will be living on other planets that aren't capable of life as we know it...but then again...we could all be extinct by that time.

  9. Re:True Meanings on Geeks vs. Nerds · · Score: 1

Ok got these off the 'net. Geek - A person who, for one reason or another, is considered socially unacceptable by the person speaking.A computer geek is someone who is socially inept but expert with computers. As computers become more important in the average person's life, this term becomes more often a compliment than an insult. Nerd - 1.A creature in a Dr.Seuss children's book, If I Ran the Zoo. 2.A socially inept or unattractive person. 3.A person who is more interested in pursuing intellectual interests than in keeping up with trends in fashion.Since the Internet revolution, "nerd" has become a less pejorative term, and "computer nerd" is even used with admiration. Does this tell us anything at all?

  10. Re:I'm going to get it for this one.. on Geek Christmas Ideas · · Score: 1

First of all I agree one hundred percent with this. My mother made the mistake of doing this with my husband. It was our first year together and my mother didn't know what to get him. At first she asked me and I said if you are going to get anything technology/computer-related...go out and buy the best Joystick out on the market. My mother wouldn't pay much..so she ended up getting him this really crappy joystick. Needless to say..she thought it was like the greatest one out there...while he was looking at her with this really, really funny look on his face. So advice to all of those going out to buy a geek a tech/computer-based gift...listen to what they want, (if they say I want this, and you buy them something slightly different....they aren't going to like it) or don't buy them a tech/computer-based gift at all.

  11. Re:My take on the violent games cause violence on Game Ratings; Are Combat Sims Worse Than FPSs? · · Score: 1

This may be a little late, but I am here to post my say in this. First of all, yes, parents do plop their children in front of a computer or tv. That is just wrong. I mean with the new mini-vans coming out with tv/vcr installed in them. What next? I also played D&D when I was growing up. It didn't make me go out and start being violent. It helped me develope a better sense of Imagination. I heard somewhere that a parent spends on average of only 12 minutes a day or less with their kids. Come on....Why not just kick them out of the house, and let them learn on their own. The kids these days don't know the right morals and that, I think is the parent's fault. Now back to the games... Computer Games, especially violent ones, are a fall-back for parents to blame their children's violence on. If parents spent more time and not putting the kids in front of the tube, the world would have better morals and there probably won't be as many debates like this one going on! Those are just my thoughts on the subject.
