once american politicians realized that they could use a great common enemy as a political tool, it soon followed that all they needed to do in order to maintain their power was to invent more enemies. first "communism", now "terrorism", along with all the other vague ideas america wages war against, it all seems to have its roots in the cold war.
So who's to say what is "adult" and what is not? Some things are pretty easy to figure out, but I know plenty of art sites like deviantart that allow uploading of nude photos. Does that make it an adult website? Somebody is going to have to make decisions about these things and I think it would be all too easy to simply turn it into a place for all "objectionable content", whatever that may mean, pretty much destroying the idea of the internet as a bastion of free speech.
Then again, I can't remember how many times I've gone to dicks.com thinking I'd end up at the sports shop website... but that is a risk that parents should take into account when allowing their kids onto the internet. They'd be better off outside anyway.
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, that plane was being flown by a pilot. It was one of two things:
He overshot the runway trying to land and gunned it to take a second approach, but the engines didn't speed up fast enough, and the plane went straight into the surrounding field.
-or-
He was taking off, but the engines didn't give enough power, and the plane went straight into the surrounding field.
Either way, it was a human pilot dealing with an engine problem. I'm pretty sure no one survived the explosion.

they used to have something like that, it was called iSync, and IIRC they stopped using it after the iPod went USB (from Firewire).

also, this, with the exception of "pedophiles" replacing "homosexuals". I should think the basic principal still applies.
