    here's my handy tip for smoking in a no smoking area.

    Use a vaporiser to light the weed
    breath it all in in one go and blow the excess smoke out of the window or in this case - into an airlock.

    shouldn't be too hard

    I wonder if they send the sniffer dogs in before take-off?

    apart from the fact that Heinz was altruistic in nature this osunds much like his business practices in the early 20th century. Employees were supplied with a huge communal eating hall where they would all eat, company baths, company church etc. etc.
    It looked like a happy place. Heinz was one of the few who didn't fuck over his workers during the depression. In fact he raised wages and hired more people!

    when a successful business actually looks after it's employees it gets better work from them - shock!

    Intel are/is would not be misunderstood by anyone
    forest is a collective noun replacing a plural for a singluar

    Intel is both a group of individuals and a corporate entitity hence the difference

    It's an interesting point and one thaqt's been through the courts a few times.

    In the UK it's where YOU were when you did it. Like the guy who ran a US porn site from the UK. Because he uploaded the images from his UK residence he went to prison for distributing obscene material.

    I'm sure legal types get questions like this in college.
    "If I'm standing one one side of the state line and you on the other and I shoot and kill you, where did the murder take place?"

    "What if after I shoot you you stagger and fall into my state and I go and stand in yours and watch you die?"

    Inferno has a plug-in Internet Explorer so that it can execute DIS code or maybe even Java all you need to write then would be the screen saver that downloads the web page and starts the processing.

    Much respect to Dave Presotto and the others who helped out
    with the Bitsy port.

    My serial cable arrived this morning, and it was about a 20
    minute procedure to install Plan 9 on it and get it working
    with the office WaveLAN; most of that time was copying data
    over via the serial interface.

    I'm currently using it to listen to the audio tracks from a
    CD physically in the CD-ROM drive on my ``normal'' terminal.
    The audio is a little choppy (I suspect the wavelan can't
    keep up), but I can understand the lyrics.

    People in the office have been pretty flipped when they've
    seen it today (``so it's running CE?'' ``Nope.'' ``Woah....'').

    This is extremely cool!

    I was just about to kick ICQ and then they added free SMS capability.

    it's a kick-ass feature. 2 way sms comms with phone users. Just what I needed and it's kept me with ICQ for an extra year.

    Sadly my icq db bomed this weekend so I'm installing jabber to see what it's like.

    ICQ can sometimes take even longer

    when my GF is using the PC here I get my laptop out and sometimes we ICQ each other. I've seen some really long delays.

    for £200 (with kb & mouse) I got a DC as a quirky puta. Just waiting for the NetBSD, Inferno SH3/4 & linux-Dc projects to sort me out a bootable OS with kb, mouse & video support and I'm away.

    Damn my TV broke so I'll need one of those too!
