As a european, I will gladly pay for using a European GPS instead of a free Us GPS.

By the way, I listen to british pop music, eat Italian food, drink french wines

I Use German Linux Distro, and a finnish Linux Kernel. I'm not worried about DEcss, SSSCa and software patents.

And for the "too bad if it is wrecked", It'll be just another proof of the US Imperialism. We'll handle this, just like the rest.
I drive a german car, and my french wife wears French and Italian clothes

Oh, by the way, my work is in the Steel industry,
and we are kicking US steelmakers arses to the point where you impose tariffs again.

I like US for the mistakes they make, and the innovation in both business and research. Then we can implement our own versions.

    I don't agree with you.
Your pension fund scheme is biased.
As more people retire, the need for cash will increase, and the funds will have to sell part of their assets to cover this need.
The scale of this is so big, that it will have an impact on the market. Numerous nett sellers will crush the stock prices.
My bet is that this will create a selling market starting in 3-7 years.
THEN, the economic crisis will begin, with people ceasing to buy thing to save money "in case of".

Remember that in the US, 60% of your GNP is internal consumer activity.
Once people stop buying goods, then you have the start of your deflation scenario.

I read It some month ago. It IS well written, but it is also a little Mcdonalds : tasteless, and soon forgotten.
In fact, i read it with mild pleasure, but once finsihed, I found the plot too unbelievable, the characters too schematic, and the ending too predictable.
I would not advise somebody to read it.

  8. Games and Guns are not responsible, people are on Gaming Companies Being Sued Over Columbine · · Score: 1

    I live in France.

Guns are not allowed to be sold to teenagers. The law forbids it. It is very hard to own and operate a gun in my country, and most of the shootings are robberies-related. I think this is good.

We had, in my region, In 2 years time, 2 or 3 accidents in or near schools, with teens involvings guns (the saddest being a suicide during classtime). In fact, it is worse since the Bosnia War, smuggled guns are easier to find.

However, Killing occur at school, most of the time with knives, over drugs or "honor" matters.
But not on an industrial scale, and for motives such as Columbine.

In France, kids also play Doom, and CounterStrike, and whatever violent game you can think of. In my (small) city, we had a weeklong LAN party with over 300 people, most teens. They also watch LAheat, Swat whatever, and the most violent serials you have in the US.

    No columbine though.

I play CS. I practised hunting. I learned to handle guns & explosives at the army. The RIGHT way, I think. If you want to play blind mounting of a 92F, i'm your man.
I do not own a gun. I won't let my 2 kids own guns. But I will teach them about guns. About the danger of those items. And that the danger lies with the PEOPLE.

Blame. Blame people. Blame the law. But don't blame games.

Unless you don't want the REAL questions being asked.
