    Not legally justified/Illegal is not the same thing as evil. Upholding the law just because it is the law is dangerous and may cause you to become an agent of injustice. Copyright law (and its associated enforcment and punishment) has been abused far too much by certain organisations that it has lost all respect.

    Its stretching credibility that admins won't know about telnet, but sure I can accept that. However I can't accept an admin missing that an unknown service is running and accepting connections on port 23 that the admin is oblivious about.

    The problem is that the social networks are being blocked. "sitting behind the safety of their monitors clicking endlessly" could provide some assistance if you were to set up ways to circumvent the blocks.
    Being on the street protesting is not the only useful action to perform.

    I think that may have been the point. By using the media intelligently the requirement for locking people up is reduced.

    I'm not really sure what your point is. Perhaps your definition of absurd is different than mine. It seems to me that even in 1500 your statements may be absurd or reasonable depending on the method proposed to acheive the goal.

    Leonardo's helicoptor even though it wouldn't fly is not absurd, but the product of reason. However if he was to mention that one could fly by applying the power of faith that would be absurd.

    The wires connecting me to the internet utilise public property. It is not feasible or desirable to have every private company run their own cables to my doory. This results in a lack of competition and a situation where the public get screwed.

    If you really have a 100% private network, fine, do what you like. However as soon as you take advantage of public property and the resulting limited competition don't complain when I ask for some restrictions as a condition of using the public property.

    Firstly, the argument should be accpeted or rejected based on its contents, not by who made the argument. Would it matter if this argument was put forth by the Fire Brigade Union?

    Secondly, if we are dealing with 100% private property I would agree with you. However when common property is used the people have a right/duty to ensure that it is used fairly.

    But it won't kill me, because I won't use them. In the past 20 years or so we have become so afraid of dirt that our kids will have practically no immune system at all.

    Well it may kill you. Especially if one of the soap using people grow a particularly bad strain of bacteria and then spread it to you.

    You still require a functional network after applying all the security. Anything less than functional and people will work around the security creating other problems.

    Seriously though, if you don't like the people in government vote for someone else and encourage others to do the same. There are more than 2 parties.
