Why would that be needed? That water reaches the soil anyway if it's raining.
On top of that, we get plenty of rain in these regions (Austria/Western Europe), so there's no need for irrigation. In places where they do need irrigation, there's not much rain to collect, methinks:)
As much as I prefer linux myself, it has nothing to do with this article. It's about the systems as they are out of the box, without any additional techie work.
The same goes for those who commented you could run Vista on the mac.
It's easier to create Windows/Mac ports now because Trolltech dual licensed qt4 gpl+commercial on all platforms, whereas with qt3 they did so for Linux only.
I still don't get why the Trolls didn't do this earlier with qt3. Anyone knows the reason?
Added complexity (and user control) most likely introduces new possibilities for abuse, which is already a major problem for search engines these days.
Last I heard was that DNF was to be released around 2010.
They're not yet sure what they'll do with it though. Maybe it's hypervisors, maybe a new user interface paradigm for consumers, but it will certainly be more user-centric.
The difference with Vista is that the KDE team really has some major interesting new technologies now, though most of them are rather invisible from the common user's perspective. This will change over time. I assume KDE 4.1 will be more about applying/improving those underlying technologies, rather than introducing them.
Aside from the desktop itself, a large number of applications have also vastly improved.
I'd like to know what 64% analog sound sounds like

Oh, the joys of the
I guess they're probably using the generated power for more than just parking lot lighting. TFA is unavailable though, so I can't check if I'm right.

...make a donation to the PFF (Pyramid Frontier Foundation). Fair use applies to pyramids too, because Ra said so!
Those were my exact thoughts too. I fear the GPU will become the bottleneck for KDE4+.

The "interesting" was meant to be emphasized. I was a bit careful not to start a flamewar though. Maybe I should be more clear in the future :)

That's not really correct, IMHO.

This is slashdot, we need a bad car analogy too. :P
