It wasn'y my intention to flame the conversation or anything like that. You may indeed be right that the first part of my comment wasn't that close to the subject as it should be though I insist that there are great differences in the way you perceive some things in contrast to the way some European would. Although we're getting pretyt much out-of-topic here I'll give you an answer; there's a general acceptance of things being prohibited or ill-presented to the public. For example the mass media. I think you would agree-as a human who has the ability and knowledge to access information through the Internet- that the presentation of facts in general but also your national matters in TV are pretty much a disgrace for any so-called journalist. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, it's just a matter a differences that I'm pointing out.
As a matter of fact there are great differences on how we understand constitutional right and lack of freedom in the US and the EU. I dont really now if ppl in the US notice what the rest of the globe takes for granted, by thus meaning that there is a great lack of freedom in your country, Or you just used to it.
In this topic, to be more exact there are no legal disclaimers that can prohibit a use of the internet and i do pretty much agree with anything said before. But the example of Sweden canot be easily adopted by other countries. The landscape and the demographics of a country play significant role in what kind of network can be established. In Greece for example where I live optical fibers would be out of the question except for 2 or 3 major cities.
I think we're loosing the point of discussion here. One thing is the end of a stage/mission/objective/etc and levels/load times are an other. F.ex : GTA has load times every time you enter a building. GodFather the game doesnt. It is indeed a "free roam" game.
As about rpg games and leveling there it's totaly another thing. It is a way the human brain works..When it sees somethg incomplete, it tends automatically to complete it. That's why such games are so addictive. Off-topic tip: So when you write a text that you want ppl to read it align it to the left. If you choose to "justify" it will look good but is no good to read.
i'm not talking about what may happen but what will happen. Marketing "laws" are the bible of our times..That means that no such thing playing Quake 1 or Snes emulations will get into production as it isnt catchy and the targeted population is very small and-at a great percent-has no monetary power of its own. So that small thing with the 5 or 6 V battery that can play music, games, work as a phone, has a touch screen, etc etc doesnt really do anything good enough...So that will just stay in discussion but never come to reality. And to be honest..it's better that way. Profit comes by innovation and thats why the big N has a reason to be smiling for a long time. That reason is called Nintendo Wii... Down there in the East the marketiers who came up with such an idea deserve an applaude...
Unfortunately the problem nowadays isnt the hardware nor the software, but the power supply of both mentioned above. It's a fact: Lion batteries are not anymore enough. Ppl who use their cell phone much know what I'm talking about. I've reached the point that I carry a 2nd battery in my pocket as if it were a spare clip for a gun... So imagine a phone that also plays games...
OMg! About the second part of your answer...At first I laughed but after giving it some consideration you're absoolutely right...It is indeed a magnet for people that have nothing to do with gaming in general.
In addition, one of the reasons i dont regret the 250 Euros i spent is the glance of any1 getting the Wiimote in their hands for the first time..Right away you see a childish smile that shows pure entertainment. Always fun!
