Tell him that if you can program you can create games.
(Don't mention how hard it is to pull off creating a 3D-game for one person. )
By the time I realized that my father didn't mention how hard it was to create really cool games I was allready interested in programming.;)
btw. You might want to suggest a language for him that more easily makes him able to get instant results. People are going to shoot me for this but something like Python, Java/C# or even *gasp* VB.
(On the other hand, if he's enjoying C that's great as well.)
I do photography for hobby, I am also a graphic design apprentice and I often try to teach myself while at home.
I've seen iMac(the white one) at pro-photographer, and I a design-company I visisted a short time(for learning) I saw that they used current generation 24" iMac. And they're quite caught up in details, correct colors and so forth.
My own 20" iMac does not widest view angle (have to look pretty much straight at it to get 100% correct colors), but it's still better than 95% of computers I see around. The 24" iMac seem to be much better here. The glossy screen is only a problem if you have strong/sharp lightsource. It's quite detailed, esp. in darker tones(compared to other screens.) Not as good as say... NEC MultiSync LCD2470WNX, but still quite good.
The Mac Mini does indeed suck, it haven't been updated since 2006.
Indeeed.
My aunt was having trouble with her PC(she said) and said she thought it what a virus(I assumed it was spyware.)
So I fire up her 600 Mhz machine and it boots up quite quickly, and everything is snappy as hell.
Turns out the real problem was a broken modem and that the Win2K is stil running beautifully.
I think I'm gonna find some of my old PC's that supported Win2K and install it. (I'm moving more and more to Linux, but it's practical to have a winbox lying around...)
"If two out of three of Red Hat (RHEL), Novell (SLES) and Debian are willing to agree in advance on a date to the nearest month, and thereby on a combination of kernel, compiler toolchain, GNOME/KDE, X and OpenOffice versions, and agree to a six-month and 2-3 year long term cycle, then I would happily realign Ubuntu's short and long-term cycles around that."
He's explicitly writing that he would adapt his Ubuntu's release to a date set by others.
If so, then some of the small snippets of code in Windows Vista surely dates back to Windows 1.0. But Vista is NT-based, and wasn't NT a sort break with the Dos-based Windows series?
I know they shared *alot* of Win32 API, but considering that NT have a well.. NT-kernal as oposed to DOS-kernel they would have to rewrite the libraries(and not just port them)?
Can anyone confirm/reject?
(Sorry if this is too off-topic.)
Rights? You know what they are fighting for? For the right to retire when they're 50 years old. And they're only fighting for goverment people to do this. It's obvious abuse of strike as a means.
Because of Vista Linux is bound to at least increase more than usual.
I'm a XP-user and I'll probably continue to be for a while, but I've barely touched Vista and I abselutely hate it.
I've Been trying out Ubuntu, and when I can't use XP anymore I'll switch for sure. (And besides, I've kinda fallen in love with Fluxbox. Tabs!:)
