Still learning "The Rules" around here. Stuff that "Matters". You didn't even get the "airplanes on the moon" schtick. No sense of humor whatsoever. News for nerds. THAT much I get.
No thanks.
Subtract one "Troll" from you database. I need to get my "Karma" back before I die so I don't have to spend a miserable eternity in NerdsHateMeHades.
SEE YA!
I used to love my XM. I still do, but I got this cool little gizmo called an "Ipod Shuttle" for Christmas and find I don't listen to XM as much as I used to. Hmmmm....
And love Microsoft. It's not the products (Apple computers are great and VISTA SUCKS) but the "guilt by association". Windows users tend to be real human beings. Apple users tend to be elitist snobs.
I had the same issues, and my daughter does as well studying social work. Lame everything. Don't get me started on the textbook racket the colleges have set up with textbook publishers. And constantly rising costs while the schools build 9-figure health clubs and sit on 9-figure surpluses. College is a scam - but we have to do it or risk flipping burgers for the rest of our lives.
Can't find fault with that. As an oldtimer with over 25 years in the industry I have no loyalty towards my employer, either. Why should I? Companies have no loyalty towards me and would just as soon ship my job to India to save a few bucks. Screw 'em. The result of NAFTA is proof-positive loyalty to and from US companies is a thing of the past - as it should be.
Given the divisions in the US around subjects like evolution and climate change, scientists face challenges in how to communicate good science to a polarized US public....
A polarized public is to be expected, given the lack of good science.
And young employees are more likely to use bittorrent/file sharing software using company resources and bandwidth. And it's tough to stop it since the supervisors and IT guys are doing the same thing.
I loved Vista when I first installed it, then learned to loathe it more and more the more stuff I tried to install. I'm just getting around to tolerating it again and now the SP is due tomorrow. uSoft must be working with the DOD in developing "Marketing Terrorism".
I've been around since before the DOS days. I've used literally hundreds of pieces of software. Some were better than others. But Vista is, without a doubt, the worst operating system I have ever had the displeasure to use. I have a Quad core on my primary home PC running Vista Home Premium, and it performs no better than my 2-year-old laptop single core running XP SP2. To the contrary it runs worse. It locks up, it obsoletes hardware, it takes 5 MINUTES to fully boot-up, etc. etc. At first I was impressed. Vista is beautiful to look at. And after the first install it boots up in about 10-20 seconds. But just start adding stuff... and what the hell else are we supposed to do with a PC??? and it takes longer and longer to do things. uSoft needs to stop playing around with Zunes and game machines and start rewriting Vista - FROM SCRATCH. I hate Vista with a passion.
No legal representation?! If this were such an open-and-shut "fair use" case I would think hundreds of attorneys would be lining up to take this case pro bono.
Excellent point, rucs. And I would trade any just-graduated degreed engineer or programmer with a non-degreed engineer with 20+ years of actual work experience. Nothing teaches like reality, and that's the problem at Wiki. Elitist journalist wannabees who have no concept of reality keeping "secret lists". As much as I like Wiki I'm old enough to know BS when I read it. And I'm smart enough to know when an article is biased or spun out of control. Maybe the very young, naive and impressionable readers need guidance, but I for one don't need a friggin' Cabal.

Depends on how much YouTube wants to practice censorship. Rev Wright videos are becoming increasingly hard to find over there ...
W is such an idiot. The first step for warmongering America is to build runways on the moon for AIRPLANES!!! NO WAR FOR MOONDUST!!

... at work. Drink coffee, eat doughnuts, post fake hyperlinks, catch "bad" guys, make 6 figures a year, retire in 20. Sheesh.

"must have an audio system ..." And how vague can that be? I can hook up my iPod Shuttle to speakers and call it an "audio system".

Sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads.
So all future operating systems will work worse than Vista. We are DOOMED.

"Whackypedia"? I like it. Belongs in the Urbandictionary next to "YouBoobTube".
