  1. ISP's share some blame on The Washington Post Decries 'Toxicity' in Videogames (siliconvalley.com) · · Score: 1

The largest ISP's go to great lengths to publish accurate information to geo IP services, like MaxMind. Because of the nature of online gaming, peer to peer, it's relatively easy to capture the IP address of the people in your game and then use a geo IP service to locate them down to the city block.

  2. After I beat the game I spent hours working on a ranch as John Marston, building fences, milking cows and shoveling the barn.

The RDR2 story was great outside the mundane tasks in the game. I didn't agree with the death of Arthor Morgan though, I grew to like his character.

What the shit? Reminds me of when the FTC lady had an issue with the girls on hacker pyramid at Defcon and I told her to STFU or leave, nobody is forcing you to be there. I had feminist hanging off every single one of my tweets for a week and calling who they thought my employer was and trying to get me fired. Don't get me wrong, I love women and I believe in equality but seriously if you don't like something, leave.

  4. Your absolutely right, it will be impossible to have a uncensored internet free of hate speech, as the act of removing hate speech is censorship. I would rather have an uncensored web over something free of hate speech.

  5. I subscribe to google music and more on more than one occasion I've observed music going missing from my playlists because of contractual agreements / rate disputes between google and the publisher. Google doesn't make any attempt to notify their paying customers of this change to the catalog. When you obtain music thru other means and upload it to google, you never need to worry about it disappearing. Piracy gives me the ability to continue enjoying the music long after it's removed from google.

No, plex is not just a pirate tool, I use it to host videos from conferences and educational material.

  7. Here's the kicker, VOIP services fall under what the government has started classifying as critical infrastructure. Some states have different rules than at the national level and as far as I know, they cannot be bypassed without the provider being hit with a multitude of fines. It sounds like MPUC needs to go at regulating VOIP as regulating critical infrastructure, that should solve their problem.

  8. Someone should proof read this article. My 5 month old great dane can write better than whoever put this dumpster fire together.

  9. law suite incoming in...3...2...1...

Seriously you can't force this because it's not going to end well. Companies should be free to hire the right candidates for the job without regard of color, religion, sex, cat count and political views.

  10. I heard thru the grapevine, something related to bluetooth is being released at BH. So definitely turn that off...

You should of been there the year john mcafee invited a bunch of these security guys to the hustler strip club. The girls were charging something like $250-300 dollars for a 15 minute lap dance. They don't deserve tips at that rate, it's borderline robbery. I got out of there after I figured out I couldn't get free drinks and $20 dollar lap dances.

  15. You must be referring to the "off shore resources" developing websites for pennies on the dollar. They don't care about UX or performance of a website, their only concern is will this pass pipeline testing and get released.

  16. I hope Charter gets kicked out of NY, they deserve it. The company has a major lack of regard for keeping commitments.

  17. Medical is part of the issue on The US is Facing a Serious Shortage of Airline Pilots (cnn.com) · · Score: 1

The FAA has blanket bans on people with ADD/ADHD from obtaining a third degree and above medical certification. The FAA also has a ban on the medications used to treat ADD/ADHD. Anybody that has been treated for ADD/ADHD at any time and never officially diagnosed by a psychologist, including as a child, will either be denied or will require a separate series of psychological tests that can cost up to 7 thousand dollars.

I am unable to take my first solo flight required to get my private pilots license. The FAA won't issue me a third degree medical certificate, because I have ADD and I treat it using Adderall. I've accumulated 19 hours of flight time and that does not matter to the FAA.

The outrageous part, the FAA has issued exceptions for pilots in the past to continue taking their ADD/ADHD medications.

  21. I looked at the company Outback that bought all of the inventory, their prices are crazy high for old, end of life equipment. Thanks, but I will stick with my local government auctions. I've been able to buy medical xray machines and metal detectors for 20 dollars. Radio trunking system from the police department, 300 dollars.

I'm not sure if your trolling or not, but smart watches have plenty of uses. Such as being able to look at notifications without having to pull out your phone, which sometimes might be unacceptable, like in a meeting. I use my smart watch as a second authentication device for my smart home, when someone puts in my door code, the system looks to see if my watch is in range, if not, doesn't open. Additionally I use my smart watch to monitor my heart rate and for someone with a heart condition, it's useful.

So while you may find this tech useless, doesn't mean the entire world does.

Last year I signed up with sling (internet tv company) and payed the extra money to get the nfl network thinking I could watching all the games scheduled on that channel. When game day rolled around, tried to watch the game and was met with a black screen saying "This game is blacked out on nfl network from sling tv". What the hell am I paying for I thought? I cancelled my account because it was suddenly less useful. This year I signed up for Direct TV Now and then found out that NBC is blocked in my city when I tried to watch a game being broadcast on NBC. So I called to file a complaint and try to cancel, the customer support person I spoke with recommend I change my billing address to another city to avoid this black out and because I pre-paid, there's no refunds.

I'm done paying for the NFL, pirate tv here I come!
