  1. Microsoft? Ads? Hello? on Microsoft Complains About Google's Monopoly Abuse · · Score: 2

um ... and why is Microsoft worried about selling advertising? Aren't they are software company that buys advertising? Shouldn't they, like, be more concerned about making an operating system that works? Or, like, an office suite that doesn't crash my PC?

    Why am I asking you?

  2. The Fermi Paradox Explained on Could An ExtraTerrestrial Find Earth with a Telescope? · · Score: 1

They already detected Earth and decided not to come here.

Well, I'm glad you asked. Their instruments, much more sophisticated than ours, were able to detect that our atmosphere is highly poisonous being almost 25% free oxygen!! On top of that, the air is freakin saturated with water!! Hell, a good piece of steel wouldn't last 10 vorlecs there. Even if we sent robots, they'd just rust away!! And that's not to mention that the whole place could erupt in a giant fireball any minute if that free oxygen mixed with methane and something sparked!! The whole place probably burns flat every smagdar or two.

Total waste of time and resources to go there especially with all poor and hungry Aretards to care for here at home. No more goddamn government boondoggles!

  3. Re:Linus has already solved this problem on Afterlife Will Be Costly For Digital Films · · Score: 1

The problem with this type of storage and distribution, is that it strongly favors only what is popular

One need only adopt the Oxian Program for Digital Immortality to overcome this problem.

Step one: insert gratuitous picture(s) of Natalie Portman's boobies
Step two: make available on BitTorrent

Presto! This work will be available online forever

Things are much simpler if you just relax and work within the system. Really.

  4. Duke Nukem Explained on Wired's 2007 Vaporware Awards · · Score: 4, Funny

There seems to be much misinformation here about Duke Nukem Forever.
Allow me to set the record straight.

3D Realms is haunted by the ghosts of gamers who died of outrage when they found that Duke Nukem 3-D choked with more than 5 players in multi-player mode and, to appease the spirits, the workers at 3D Realms must continually build Duke Nukem Forever 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ...well... forever or they will die.

So far they have kept the spirits at bay.

  5. Re:Slow down?!? What?!? on Can Time Slow Down? · · Score: 4, Interesting

Days, weeks, and months are going by quicker than I ever remember, and I see NO sign of it slowing.

    My favorite theory about that:
at age 5, 1 year = 1/5 of your life
at age 15, 1 year = 1/15 of your life
at age 40, 1 year = 1/40 of your life
and in our heads we measure time relative to our lives.

Well, I like it, so it's true.
