    Which makes me wonder WHY He and not Xenon or another far easier to contain gas. Honestly they would get a better Bernoulli effect off of heaver non reactive gas inside.

    They cant, hard drive absolutely rely on the Bernoulli principle to fly the heads, you have to have an atmosphere inside the drive for them to work.

    You can get a REFURBISHED equal drive that has a higher chance of dying. Oh and the replacement has no warranty. The dark underbelly of hard drives is you get a single replacement, the replacement has a 90 day on it and that's it.

    HDMI is not ideal at low resolutions or at that price point. same monitor in HDMI will be over $90, composite video works great for that as it's easy to remove the connector and make the whole thing very compact.

    on small screens you use LARGE text and it looks fantastic. if you think you will run X and use it as a desktop, then look elsewhere. if you are using it as information display interface (and you can get a touchscreen overlay for it) it works perfectly and a lot of RasPi projects are using them.

    The Pi does not need an OS. you can run software directly on the bare metal. What moron told you it needs an OS?

    Not possible with a PC? you dont know much about pc's.

    I can do a LOT more with a PC than a pi. interface to a lot more than the pi could ever dream of.

    the pi is CHEAP and very low power. it can not do more than what a full blown PC can do.

    You already can, get a 3-4 inch $12.00 rear view camera screen and do it. Hell I have one running the pong clock on my desk right now. 720X480 is good enough for 99% of the projects out there.

    Because it can run off of 4 AA batteries for a very long time or run off of a $12.00 solar panel. Let me guess, you ASSUME that everyone on the planet has electrical power or Stable electrical power.

    get me a low power display and suddenly you have a computer that is useable in a 3rd world classroom that can run a lab of 10 of them for a day off of the teachers car battery.

    Snowden is a freaking hero just Like Manning. Snowden knew the shitstorm he was going to step into when he did what he did.. And contrary to the liars in the government what he released did not risk anyone or "aid the enemy" unless the American public is by their definition the enemy..

    The fact that they all are trying to play it down and it's working because americans in general are stupid as a box of rocks and are not screaming at the top of their lungs in the streets about this is proof.

    I am pretty disgusted with my fellow citizens and how they happily give up their rights for the sake of fake security...

    It doesn't matter as manufacturers ignore it. HDMI has a standard called CEC that they are supposed to follow. Well none do. 90% of all video equipment do not adhere to the CEC standard making it impossible to have full control of a SONY bluray player from a Panasonic TV even though they are supposed to.

    The only way to do it is a central processor with lots of IO that does translations and control with scripting. That or get Congress to pass a law that all Consumer electronics must follow a specific protocol and command set or they can not be sold inside the USA.

    And that will never happen.
