    Microwaves go through the air, they point from building to building with no "highly secured datacenter of the NYSE" tunnel between them. Pigeons can fly there. Therefore a model rocket can easily do what I want it to and take out that link for a short time.

    I strongly suggest you go and get some basic education, because you seem to lack a lot of it.

    Dont even need that. Model rocket with it's parachute replaced with a lot of aluminum foil that was ran through a cross cut paper shredder (put a piece of paper on each side of it) Chaff the air when the time is right and you take them offline and they dont make the trade.

    Only 8 people own the latest ones, so that dont count.
    Only after a couple of years when the 99% can afford to buy a new imac will that be a problem. I'm still very happy with my horribly out of date 2011 27" imac.

    Imacs can easily upgrade the video card and processor. Done it several times.

    Hell I used to upgrade Dell laptop processors on a regular basis.

    Run a real router.

    Pfsense router with a transparent proxy that hits squidguard with advertising filtering files.

    Note: iPhone will pull ad's from the cellular connection if it cant pull them from the Wifi Connection.

    I'm about to use a floppy heavily. I have about 4000 Panasonic Toughbook CF-29's to reimage and give away to ham radio operators in my state. No usb boot, no CD drives, Boot to floppy to load linux, install from the Thumb drive after that.

    Amen brother. I have given away several working LaserJet4's and I know they are still working.

    You cant buy anything today that can handle 30,000,000 sheets of paper and still print happy. Refills on the toner cartridges run about $10.00 around here. You can buy refurbs for $20.00

    I have around here a stack of 8" floppies with NASA software on them for spacecraft Solar panel design.
    And I still had the Tandy Model II that it ran on until 6 months ago. Still has the NASA asset tag on it.

    you see, I'm one of those evil terrorists that blocks advertising. I block it in my devices, I record TV with MythTV that strips out Commercials.
    I am evil incarnate. Children go to sleep hungry because of my actions, and the enture economic collapse is my fault due to the adblocking.

    Want to know what is even more evil? I block telemarketing calls, and I dont read any spam. I am evil Incarnate and utterly proud of who I am.

    How am I still in IT? IT staff people don't write custom software or design systems that handle digital and analog video so simply that even a CEO can use the system without having the secretary come in and turn it all on.

    Or do you have zero idea how smart buildings and High end AV work?

    You cant, but there are a lot of poseurs that think they can.

    Even high end phones like the iPhone or a Flagship Android phone has Crap call quality compared to a correctly configured VoIP phone system at the office. and no using VoIP client on your phone over a VPN on the cell data network does not count. You get a ton of problems doing that. Jitter and latency through the roof are just a couple that make it a complete fail on a cell network.

    Anyone interested in continuing economic increases have been sliding in their career now. I left IT 6 years ago for Smart buildings and High end Corporate AV. I'm in high demand and can dictate my job perks and salary. I'm starting to learn something else as a lot of IT and CS people are now eyeballing my industry.. So it's time to learn and start the slide to something else before this field becomes a mess like IT has.

    And no, I am not giving details, if you cant figure this out on your own, you are not smart enough to do the job.

    Dont bring a standard laptop. You can easily outsmart them.

    Grab a ARM based laptop (chromebook) and install linux. The China spooks will not have any clue as to why their spyware is not running.
