AMX compatable? nope. the only HDMI recorder that exists is the CAPTURE-HD from crestron. But it requires a special device in front of it to strip out HDCP so that it does not lock up when a Windows 8 laptop is used and HDCP is enforced.
I really wish a recorder existed that was generic and either Rs232 or Tcp controlled, but right now Crestron holds the bag on that one.

How is it there at AT&T marketing department? Because in reality they dont want to upgrade anything. The average age of the AT&T cell sites in Detroit are 7 years old. That is 7 years out of date. AT&T refuses to spend money on increasing internet bandwidth to cell sites to give customers anything Near 3G speeds and are rolling out their fake 4G that does not matter because the backbone internet connection is less than what most people have for DSL.
I'd give them a break if they were buying gear and installing it like madmen. They are not. they are running skeleton crews to increase profits and have scaled back on expansion and site upgrades drastically again to increase profits.
At AT&T Profit is the #1 priority, Service quality is #7, and Customer satisfaction is #8.
And yes it's the only real solution, if they balk at the price, they really dont want to do what you are asking, hook up a Laptop and press record if they are too cheap to buy the real tool for the job.
Buy a mouse? now you can legitimately buy an OEM copy of windows XP/Vista/Windows7/etc....
all PC hobbits have known of this for a decade... Or is Microsoft going to stop selling OEM copies to places like NewEgg? That would be the real story.
There is no "reasonable" markup argument when they do region and country price fixing. I can buy any canon lens significantly cheaper from friends in Japan and pay for shipping than at any location in the USA. Canon is marking up HARD the lens prices for other countries.
I've been buying lenses at prices that many dealers would kill for. And the lens was bought at a retail camera stop in Japan and packed in a box and shipped to me here in the USA.
Nothing that does not have admin rights, in fact no software should be able to modify anything in the system directory from normal runtime. it should require a reboot into safe mode to install updates.
I buy grey market Lenses from Canon. Because of the price fixing they do for the US market. I can save hundreds, and in some cases THOUSANDS by getting a grey market L series lens over the US market lens.

Odd, my wifes new mac book pro it was easy to crank the ram up to 8gig and replace the drive with a 750gig 7200rpm drive. took less than 20 minutes. I have had Dell laptops that took longer to get apart properly t o get to the ram slots.

Last TWO ipads I have owned were 100% free. as the previous owner dropped them and broke the screen.. I buy new screen off of ebay and replace the broken one. now I have a $900.00 64gig 3G ipad 2 for the $58.00 the screen cost me and 1 hour of my time.

Also a friend has a 1984 LE-Car that was an electric conversion that he has owned for 30 years. There are several companies that will take an existing small car and do a complete electric conversion for a LOT less than buying a manufactured one.
I am LEAST EFFECTIVE after the 8 hour mark every day. Same with all the co-workers, every hour after a standard 8 hour day degrades exponentially in productivity. In reality things start degrading at hour 6, but honestly we are still above the "typical productivity" water mark for the next 2 hours.
any manager demanding extreme work days is a highly uneducated and ineffective manager. Upper management needs to look at replacing any manager that is so bad at his/her job that the average daily work time is greater than 8.5 hours.
