Bring back personal liability. If you drive like an ass, you cause an accident, you are liable for all damages you caused. not your insurance company, YOU.
you were busy texting and hit a motorcyclist? everything you own is now the property of the motorcyclists family, as well as 50% of all your income for the next 30 years.
You dont want that liability? then buy $10,000 of liability insurance at $1500 a month, or stop driving like a moron.
Actually it is. the number of Android car stereos are exploding on the market. Why pay extortion to microsoft for the inferior windows CE when you can use the free android version of Linux.
you are grossly overestimating the output of PV cells. you would need to tow a 40 foot long trailer of the highest output PV cells to increase the range like that.
and gas prices have not even got off the ground yet. Wait for the $8.00 a gallon and $12.00 a gallon prices. $4.00 a gallon is dirt cheap compared to where it will go.
You have never driven any real sports car have you. Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. They are not SUV's they sit 2 inches from the ground. The Lamborghini countach could not be backed out of a parking spot without sticking your head out of the window and sitting backwards.
Ahh the audiovox media bridge... It requires a very specific car stereo from the factory. which means I get to buy a new car to get buy this to get what I am after.
Until audiovox figures out how to make that actually work, that is still a failure. and from the demos, it's still a fail. "Siri post to facebook my location" "sorry, I cant do that"
"siri where is the nearest hotel" will not result in a list of hotels for me to choose from that are read to me with the voice.
I played with mediabridge at CES 2 years ago. It's a little bit better, but still epic fail.
Which is why Siri and Google both are epic failures on their voice control. If I ask for something verbally and the phone returns something to display, that is a complete EPIC fail.
And it seems that caddilac also wants to follow this epic failure path. although not as bad as companies like kenwood or Clarion. Ever try to use one of those aftermarket stereos? Their UI designers and programmers are some of the WORST in the industry.
I STILL make about $1500 a month reading 9 track tapes for companies. I am one of 10 people in a 5 state area that has the ability. and people find me.
Last 9 track I read was from 1979..... I dont see any hard drives from 1979 that still work.
"The reason being tape drives are expensive and tapes don't have good wear and tear characteristics - they're good for a few read writes, but not many. Thus they are only good for mass archival - you'd need a lot of stuff to archive for it to be cheaper[1]."
I have DLT tapes that have 200 passes on them. I also have DLT tapes that sat under water for 7 weeks and are still readable. Dont give me your "don't have good wear and tear characteristics" mumbo jumbo. Maybe a crappy design like a LTO is junk but the quality stuff like DLT and SDLT are bullet proof. that's why it's the standard at any place that actually cares about backup reliability.
OSHA steals money from businesses because of that silly safe work place crap.
and dammit, I have to buy special tools so that adults can assemble the product. where if child labor laws were removed I could have them crawl around in the machine oiling them.
Yup a lot of people don't remember linear access. and a minute or two? I remember a 15 minute seek and load time when restoring a file from the end of an archive tape.
In fact it's faster to download a new distro on a 7mbps DSL line than it is to find it on the tape.
Now, I have seen with a tape robot cabinet a "infinite" hard drive. 4 hard drives for online storage, they had 4 hard drives for nearline storage, and all the tapes in the cabinet for offline storage. if you accessed the file from online and it was on tape, you would get a winpopup from the server stating that the file is in offline storage and will be spooled up for you. it then would email the person when the file was put back into nearline or online storage storage.
back in 2002 it was how we had 22Tb of tv commercials, Tv show productions, and video footage available for the video editing suites.
Really? Wow. I had better inform the Devos and VanAndel families that they dont exist. I can name 20 baron rich level families. that all still live in the United states.
"forbid you to use older versions." EULAS have no power at all. Who cares. I'll be giving out the older version to friends and you can find the old versions all over the place. in fact it's easier now because of their tactics.
"If you take too much from the rich, they will leave, and they'll take their jobs with them."
Then good riddance. They can frisking leave. Hope they enjoy paying for a private army in south america or where ever they move to. Because if what you say is true they wont be going to Europe where the rich are taxed heavily.
and honestly we don't need their jobs. Eliminate the rich and their "jobs" and the economy will recover faster. because small business men will jump in to fill the void. treating the employees better, creating a far superior product, and overall doing a far better job at it.
have they fixed the RSS feed filtering? because uTorrent was the ultimate killer for that one feature for ever.
I can point at an RSS feed and give it a list of filters to match, then it only downloads those in the filter stream PLUS checks to see if it already downloaded that file and skips it if it did.
You know they dont point a gun at you and force you to upgrade to get the ad's. I'm still running the ad-free older version and it works great. If you dont like ad's dont upgrade.
if you are still housing critical data gear in buildings that can burn, you are in the wrong business. Cement bunker/ box building. steel roof. nothing at all will burn and when the halon bombs go off, the only fire that is a concern is a magnesium fire. and we have a rule not allowing magnesium in the server building.
Mitigate your fire risk. and yes it's built on a hill so no flood risk either. no a tornado can do squat to it, this is the cool part of using an old Civil Defense shelter as a server farm. we even think it's bomb proof.
If you do patent lawsuit crap like this, they all are black hats.
Only scumbags pull this kind of Patent lawsuit crap.
And that would be the truth. In reality, good drivers get to keep their current rates, bad drivers rates go up by 20%.
Bring back personal liability. If you drive like an ass, you cause an accident, you are liable for all damages you caused. not your insurance company, YOU.

You dont buy a sports car for ease of visibility.
"T-Mobile or AT&T would be happy to sell no commitment service on your existing GSM phone."
At full price. He asked for "CHEAP". and nothing AT&T is cheap.
I guess the second largest city in my state with 540,000 people is the "boondocks" as tmobile is utter crap here.

So how do I get audio feedback that is more than "here is a list of gas stations near you" Oh that was useful!
Which is why Siri and Google both are epic failures on their voice control. If I ask for something verbally and the phone returns something to display, that is a complete EPIC fail.

If your data is worthless? yes I completely agree.
If your data is worth something than the price of that replacement drive is nothing at all.
300 weeks of reliability for a tape. Good luck getting a hard drive to last 300 weeks. I cant get them to last longer than their warranty period.

You think that is bad!

So that means they have NOT fixed that glaring omission. That makes transmission pretty useless in comparison.
"The only advantage of tape is cost/GB, "
no. it's primary advantage is 80X longevity than a hard drive and produce. at least good ones do, nothing with the label "iomega" has this feature.
