    You know, it will teach them to launch a probe when a SG team is incoming. we share with them the team schedule, they know when to hold launches.

    I know, I chose crap brands like Panasonic and Pioneer.

    Now I only buy cheap LG, I'd rather have a cheap TV that I have to replace every 3-4 than a "high end" piece of crap that does not last any longer.

    no it solves the problem of the TV manufacturers ran by complete morons that dont follow a common communication protocol for remotes.

    Blame the idiots that run the company of the product you buy they go out of their way to make everything incompatable.

    There is this magical device called a Universal remote.

    For people that have a low tech IQ there is one called "harmony" even a 6 year old can set that one up.

    Did you even try to solve the problem you have with multiple remotes?

    I've had one for a decade. in the basement is a JVC rear projection 720p set that runs windows CE. it has "apps" and Internet explorer as well as it came with a keyboard.

    It sucked badly. and Im guessing that websurfing from a TV today still sucks badly.

    It's been that way forever.

    Panasonic, Samsung and LG as well as NEC all run linux on their HDTV's and always have.

    Cool part is some TV's have a bug that let you into the OS via the rs232 port (if you bought one that was not bottom of the line and is missing that port) I was rooting around in a NEC E322 just yesterday looking through /etc and /bin. Just wished the TV had xmodem software installed so I could pull files off of it.

    Watch it with new TV's the forced upgrade cycle is they blow up.

    Last 3 HDTV's did not last more than 4 years but all cost more than $1800.00 That's a major rip-off.

    Honestly, the way it was falling tells me it was weighted to fall with the face pointing up. Plus it lands face up, let's try that again making sure it lands face down without an arm making sure it does not land on the glass front.

    ONly a techie does the initial jailbreak. My grandma maintains the XBMC install on hers just fine. It's self updating.

    You must have tried it years ago.

    Installing options are point, click, drool.

    And the media manager works just fine scrolling through 65,535 movies. search and sorting by genre,name,actor,director, lighting guy, electrician, and catering are all easily possible.

    epubs are great. the PDF ebook are slow as hell because some fricking "designer" thinks it needs a buttload of 5megapixel or higher images, and a background image per page.

    Programmers wont do that.

    Technically ATSC over the air TV is streaming. it's a MPEG2 transport stream.

    You do know there area large number of people that really dont care at all about live events or sports in general. Honestly, if it was not for the parties I was invited to and the open bar, I could not care less about the superbowl.

    For two reasons. 1, the NFL are nothing but a bunch of scumbags. the claim yearly they lose a lot of money from people STEALING the superbowl by inviting friends over and having a party. Yes, having more than 10 friends over is ILLEGAL as far as the NFL is concerned.

    2, Honestly all NFL atheletes are a joke compared to College football players. Big fat lazy overpaid idiots. I have no interest in watching a bunch of rich panzies play a game. I would rather watch REAL atheletes at college level.

    A lot of people feel this way and more and more join the ranks each year.

    I dont know I never use it unless I needed to reboot the Atv box to get bac kto the XBMC install on it.

    The latest XBMC makes the apple TV interface look like a complete turd. having a 2tb NAS full of bluRay and DVD rips delivers an experience at home that apple on their own refuse to give me.

    If it's not $99.00 and they get rid of the crappy HDMI passthrough that was an epic fail. IT's dead before it hits the shelves.

    They also need to make it so I can change the browser ID string so that I can bypass checks on sites like NBC.com and ABC.com and watch their streaming on the TV.

    From my experience.. the 30 year old device is built better, higher quality and will continue to operate for another 50 years. Unlike the utter crap that is available today that you will be lucky to keep working for 5 years.
