    Technically the railroads are owned and maintained by network rail whose ownership isn't exactly clearly either public or private, there's a bit of debate about it. For the record I believe the railways should be fully brought back into public ownership.

    I've got a Terak 8510 in my office that appeared from an old language project, pretty cool machine doesn't seem to boot and I don't have time to diagnose it unfortunately. Runs UNIX 6 apparently.

    The worst way to lose weight, is with a balanced diet, since then you have to eat almost nothing and you'll feel terribly hungry all the time

    After a while though you will adjust to eating less, which is what you need to do, otherwise as soon as you move off your fad diet (assuming it is succesful) you are still going to keep eating far too much.

    Right now anywhere, if we insist on putting it off longer and longer then the cost of the transition is going to keep going up as the cost of oil goes up. So logically we should start right now.

    In case you hadn't noticed we have had a quite severe depression, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume it could and probably would have been considerably worse without prompt intervention. Whether the solution chosen was the best option is a different question.
