    Why do they even allow cashiers to open the drawer anymore? Couldn't cash registers have those money dispenser dealies? You know, the things they have on the Self Checkouts now. It would virtually eliminate errors.

    I am particularly fond of Rainy Mood. The track is something like an hour long so repetition is a non issue. I will sometimes simulate "rainy days" by drawing the shades, putting on Rainy Mood, and then adding some music on top of that and doing some light reading. It is truly fantastic.

    Technically there's (as far as we know) only one real silenced gun in the world called the PSS. What is commonly called "silencers" are actually suppressors. Here is a video of suppressed pistols being used. (Technically, even the PSS has noise from the motion of the mechanisms.)

    You really think it's a good idea to let the UN have control of it? This was just talked about on Slashdot yesterday.

    Look, as bad as the US might be, the UN will be far, far worse. We will have Qaddafi 2.0 (whoever that may be) using the UN to track down dissenters. We will have China using deep packet inspection in order to "maintain security" when they'll really be stealing as much data as they can get their hands on. Think of the worst thing a country would do if it had sole control of the Internet, and then they will ALL do that.

    What we really need is a truly neutral nation that can host it without fear of them doing something stupid. The US is no longer that place.

    Windows seems to go through a pattern of "Good Windows, Bad Windows". We should add to the "never buy before the first service pack rule" - never buy a Windows if the latest iteration was really good. It'll be crap.

    The issue, though, is that with operational security this is all rendered moot.

    I'm gonna swing by the store (highly illegal black market) to buy some bananas (AK-47s) and apples (hand grenades). Do you want me to pick up anything (do you think the line is tapped)?

    Oh shit, I just had a completely mundane discussion while passing information back and forth. What are they going to do, track for trends of apples and bananas being used in the same sentence? The signal-to-noise ratio would be ridiculous.
