...to copying my VHS boxed set over to DVD. I can enjoy the new altered versions (well, except for the closing song at the end of ROTJ, wtf was that about, I like the Ewok celebration) but I like the original versions better.
Hell, I was thinking about seeing if anyone wanted the originals on DVD...aw well, guess Lucas beat me to that one.
Thank you for putting it into the proper prospective. Esp. the fact that Lucas can actually do what he wants, how he wants, so that his final product isn't watered down like so many vision that have been brought to us. I personally am looking forward to a special DVD in 2006 with all the bits and pieces that he wants to do on it...
They should have made a Mission Earth movie(s)....it was much better than B.E. and satire is almost always a good translation to film. I read B.E. way back in 7th grade...I found it fun, but the writing in and of itself seemed wrong...almost like someone my age (at the time) was trying to write a SF novel... As far as Scientlogy goes...it's a pseudo-religion and should be treated as such...I am not going to boycott it, just like I didn't boycott Coca Cola back during the aparthied (sp?)issue in South Africa (and, honestly, how many of you did?)
While I am always suspect of live action versions of comics, I really do hope they do the Tick justice...so far, I've liked all versions of this "property" (even the Sega Genesis game;D) as for my favorite line: "poor Tongue Tongue, he has but one tongue with which to taste the world"
well, yeah, but we are in a Linux rich enviroment here...besides, while POSIX compliant, BeOS is not *nix...however, for an alternative for the average Windoze user, I would definitely recommend BeOS over Linux (Slackware, however, is my personal choice for home use)
I've been using FreeDOS on and off for the last 2 betas...not to give a wishy washy answer, but some of them do and some don't. I had to switch to M$-DOS 6.0 in order to get my CDROM running in order to load zipslack, but it's a mix of M$ and FreeDOS files (I always like to complicate my life...once MSCEX is running, I'll probably go back to FreeDOS). I believe there's still a compatibility page at the FreeDOS site.
The difference being you can buy a CD in Europe and play it here in the States, but not with a DVD...could a more altruistic reason be the unfair sale and distribution of regional DVDs (not likely, but hey, maybe ole George is actually conducting a rebel attack of sorts on the whole DVD empire?)
from my understanding of the whole story, it is basically the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. For those of us who want to know what turns this basically good kid to a Dark Lord (I personally think it has to do with his mother dying in an attempt to free the slaves on Tatooine (remember his dream)(nah, that's too linear and obvious...right?) PM filled enough background to say "OK, here's how he met Obi-Wan, here's how he met Luke and Leia's mother, here's why he's being trained as a Jedi (let's face it, if one had the potential to become a Dark Lord and kill the Jedi, don't you think that it would have sent off some vibes to warn someone???)." Really, I am not all that upset over the whole DVD thing (esp. with current events), and yes, I will be one of the millions of fools who do get the proposed boxed DVD set in 2006 (hey, I got boxed VHS set with the little book about a year and a half before the special editions came out, so I've been there and done that).
If you had total control of a franchise like Star Wars(TM), you could do pretty much what you damn well wanted to do. At least Lucas is giving us the first three episodes (and don't flame me on how PM sucked...it was the first part to a story that we already know how it ends...no movie would have satisfied everyone).

And that would make Kevin Kline Anakin, Darth Vader, Amidala, and several of the Jedi, right?
...there are three types of lies:lies, damn lies, and statistics. Take from that what you will. BTW, 90% of everything is CRAP (or crud...or even s#|% depending on your frame of mind at any given time;^D)

I've stayed away from BeOS for a while now, to concentrate on Linux, but if it's now free for download, I think I'll take this "Batmobile of OS's" (to paraphrase N. Stephenson)for a test drive. This is probably the best move for a small OS to become wide spread (a la Linux). Vive la difference!

Thank you for realizing that this is merely the opening chapter of a story that we already know the ending too, and, as such, exists merely to set up the last three films. I personally think that episodes 2 & 3 will end up being better than the final ones; I mean, we're going to have the destruction of the Old Republic, the extermination of the Jedi, and the next to last battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin (sure to blow away Darth Maul's scenes). any thoughts?
A corporation of this size and magnitude can only mean one thing...the lowering of the LCD across the board (which was why I was on AOL for less than 24 hours, you can only insult my intelligence so much, then I'll realize it;^D). OTOH, if they can stream the original Space Ghost and Chuck Jones cartoons to my screen, maybe I'll join up again (maybe with the Uranium edition).

ok, fanboy mode coming on here...
Luke asks her if she remembers her REAL mother in VI...
I take this to mean that Leia knows about Amidala, but was raised by the Organas after Amidala's death.
Which model did you order?
I ordered the mid range model, and have yet to hear any shipping info...

You want GUI, go with BeOS, you want CLI, go Linux, you want to bog down your system and reboot, go Windows. See? Simple...
Aren't items on this scale starting to enter the realm where Classical Physics jumps out the window and Quantum Physics takes over?

It's the perfect mascot for Windoze, extinct
