Linus talks about infrastructure changes here that made linux scale up to 4096 processors. As a result the kernel works just as effective on 4096 cores as it does on 2 cores.
Few people actually know that to keep Google afloat Larry Page and Sergey Brin had to sell their souls. Microsoft is pure goodness, we must all unite in helping it rid the world of the evil that is Google!
Wait... no, I'm wrong again apparently. The official language always was moldovan, though for some strange reason every school called it Romana, and we had RussianRomanian dictionaries but never a RussianMoldovan one... God, this country is mixed up...
Wow... I just found out that the communist party apparently changed the name of the official language to Moldovan. After the first elections in Moldova, the official language of Moldova became "limba Romana". That's what we all learned in schools. And it was so, apparently until I went to UK for a few years. At the time the communist party won the first elections, and apparently the official language became Moldovan...
P.S. I really don't understand our government sometimes. Romania doesn't need Moldova with all its poverty, why did they thinnk it's the work of romanian special ops?..
So basically what you're saying is you're locked into using Windows and paying Microsoft, but you see that as an advantage of Windows?
Here's a few things to ponder:
No viruses, no need to run an antivirus, no updaters running in the background. With linux you can be sure your computer is secure. No need to scout the internet for software: 90% of the time the software is in the repository.
As for games: it's a lot better to play games on consoles (everything runs smoothly, no pestering from kids, upgrading means buying a newer console 5 years after, maybe more)
"it became obvious that the Moldavian pro-Romanian movement was vastly outnumbered by the pro-Russians"
If pro-Russian party had won the elections, russian would be the official language, not romanian, and certainly Transnistrian Republic wouldn't exist.
"Agreeing to a reunification would mean being excluded from the EU. It's a choice very few romanians are prepared to make." - ahh, that's what I thought.
I wouldn't call the revolt a first step at all though. It seems to me the opposing parties don't actually want to make Moldova a better country, and the rioting students don't seem to realize that they are pretty much puppets in the hands of these parties.
I seriously doubt it's going to come to this as the police didn't even try to use tear gas to stop the rioting students.
BTW, the communist party won the elections fare and square, as witnessed by over 3000 watchers from EU.
Lol:)
It's more like this though:
A woman claims Toyota prevented her from going to college. As a result she had to drop out of college. The woman ordered a Toyota vehicle online, but when she finaly got it delivered she realised it was a right hand drive car. She called toyota customer support, but the manager assured her that the RHD is just as good as the LHD, the japanese and the british all love it, and it won't be a problem for her. Only when the woman got into the car had she realised that the wheel on the right side is just half the problem. The pedals were on the right side of the car too! So with no way to reach the wheel and the pedals from the left front seat the woman had to drop out of college. Poor thing.
I was actually referring to this interview:

I think Linus mentioned somewhere in his blog (or in some interview) that SGI people have contributed code to improve scalability of the kernel.
Anyone ever had the thought that RMS just needs to get laid?
Switching to linux pays in the long run, no matter if you had to retrain your staff or not.

After reading the warrant, I'm not surprised that Calixte dude called his roommate a f*g... He definitely deserves the name.
Like sales people then?

And for tax software here's a /. thread: http://ask.slashdot.org/askslashdot/07/01/20/0418207.shtml

The TV stations are up, and always were infact, and the internet was down for half a day - since about 5-6 pm. It's very much up and running now.
I wonder: how many people in Romania do support unification with Moldova?
