Sorry, slightly OT.. No, its not yahoo sized! Thought the servers do get quite a lot of traffic, since its like adsense and uses scripting to build the widget - ie every unique user on a site using the widget does one request to the primadd servers.
I wasn't sure about the emboss effect - it does smear the edges somewhat, but gives a center highlight. Good suggestions on the var names tho, still using captcha as input field names.
I tried reducing the letters (like not having 1 and L) to help humans with the recognition. At the moment its 25 characters total to choose from. Guess the K has to go:)
thanks for the feedback!
I've looked into the idea of building one of the micro copters demonstrated at the chaos computer club camp in 2007.
(see: http://microdrones.de/) But I have been unable to find any kind of power source that would allow me to fly for 45 minutes. About 15-20 minutes is the maximum with good batteries if you want carry a small camera as well. Looked into solar (not enough. each motor takes up to 15 amps @ ~20v iirc) and fuel cell (far too heavy and expensive).
What kind of power source could you use besides fuel, which is far too loud for inner city usage.
My site is still pretty new, life measured in months. Still I do get 20k attack tries a day! Searching for all kinds of old and bug ridden php/cgi scripts. Their stupid scripts seem to like my server as it returns a 301 if you connect using HTTP 1.1 but without a Host inside the header - apparently confuses the script. Heres a small example of the last few seconds.
As this sbc article details, those left behind find it "less personally fulfilling to do their work".
So how exactly is this a good thing, unless you plan on having no office at all - which is not quite feasible.
There is one premade for japanese, and one for english, both are not that big, thought english one is lacking even more. You can write you own grammar, see http://julius.sourceforge.jp/en/grammar.html and for limited set of commands that is the best way to go
I did use julius for a small project utilizing voice recognition once. While not perfect I was quite impressed by the results of the engine. Quite fun to control the light and TV with shout commands, thought once or twice a movie actually triggered "lights off"

I'm fearing for the days when all you have at home is a thin client to some virtual machine inside some big server farm. You buy CPU time, like in the old mainframe times, get billed by cycle.
No need for anti piracy features, you don't get to see the executables or source anyways, all tucked away from your prying eyes.
Google would work together with OpenMoko / aka Freerunner.
The OpenMoko release date gets pushed back every few weeks, they could use some serious help.

I did my own captcha, but I'm not sure how much its worth - figured any non-standard one is better than none (or a std one).
Please take a look - are the effects actually helping the recognition process?

The question is, how much will those Pcs cost? Will you be able to buy them?
