This was cool the first time it was posted on slashdot, but not quite as much the second: http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=99/11/26/1010 222&mode=thread I'm sorry to bitch, and usually I just bite my tounge, but sheesh. Can't we have some sort of quality assurance on slashdot?
This is really sad. It kind of reminds me of how the local BBS slowly died and fizzled out with the internet becoming larger and larger. I don't know how it is around you, but the BBS scene is basically dead in my area. Most kids getting "online" have no clue that they can even dial anything but the internet. It's inevitable for this to happen to usenet too though. Spammers have detered would be posters and lurkers, as well as killing bandwidth. I don't know what can replace it.
Maybe he'll release on Laser Disc? I dunno, but I'd probably buy it even though I haven't bought one in years. I love the original trilogy on laser. Maybe someone knows if he will or not.
Ok, I'm by far not an expert on this subject, but some of the good home theaters I've seen have had some sort of filtering (optical or digital, I'm not sure) but it seemed to improve the overall image quality imensely. It was almost to the point that you lost pixelization at all but the closest distance. It was my thinking that perhaps a filter like the ones used in home theaters could be applied and may help a great deal, especially considering the distance the audience would be from the screen. I've done no research on this, but it seems practical to me...
To both: First off, I can't complain about my SBlive. I wish that it had an external DAC, but I'll live. IMHO, it's great for the money. Second, If you can go from DA to MP3 (with normalization) with a 3 minute song in about 15 seconds with any other encoder, please let me know. Until I know of one, Audio Catalyst will continue to be my choice ripper. My choice-Audio Cayalyst+Plextor UltraPlex I've seen DAE speeds in excess of 24x. Plain amazing to me.
What the hell is that all about too? An elaborate government coverup of people getting mad at their computers and throwing them off of 4 story buildings? Hehe...I know that it's must be spreading because it seems like one out of four customers I talk to think about commiting such an act at least once. There are SICK people out there and they need help...

Slayback
Yes the graphics on that video do suck, but all the video quality on that demo disk suck. It's not the game, the game itself is virtually identical.
