Maybe some of them.
I am born and raised in Romania and I've seen first hand a similar project: the state university bought a few million dollar server from Sun - they put it in some place and they let it rot in there. There were a few guys who leaarned programming and Unix on it, but other than this... nothing. They could do that on a few workstations. It was supposed to be the core of the Romanian research with scientists loggin in from all over the country: at first they did login, the brave ones even issued some ls or ps commands and then they didn't know what else to do...
It could be the same with the Saudis, because if you don't have any tradition with computing you tend to look at it and scratch your head....
Totally agree.
I've seen it happen befor in former comunist countries in East Europe and I have a very strong feeling the same thing will happen to the Saudi Supercomputer.
I'm not a native English speaker; in Romanian, my mother tongue, we call all religions, including ours, a "religious cult". I really cannot grasp the offensive term in "cult". Does it sound that offensive in English ?
I dont't know how many black guys are in IT at all, not only in gaming, but I guess there aren't that many.
I suppose it's because they just don't like it and their brains are not wired for this.
I know this sounds racist - but I think it is true - poverty and lack of education is no excuse - there are many young russians, for instance, who are very good programmers with a very poor background, so why blacks are not? Because they don't like it and prefere to play various sports, various video games and do other stuff.
