    Have you considered that it might be a case of fallacy to assume that it is so finely tuned at this point? It would be finely tuned whatever state the world is/was in.

    Agreed. What the test is suggesting is sort of similar to bungee jumping. You know something holds you back, but there is still some rush.

    I don't know about 'fearing death'. I know it will eventually come. I would like to die painlessly, and preferably without knowledge of that I'm dying. I 'fear' the physical pain part more than death itself.
    After I die, nothing else matters.

    I agree. If the website doesn't bother to serve proper web pages to javascript disabled browsers, then it is not really worth it. On the other hand you have some websites that require AJAX functionality to deliver proper services, like google maps, in such cases you can use the whitelist as long as you trust the site.

    I believe that browsing on campus websites is still free in NZ Universities. If your dept. lets you ssh to one of their servers (The CS Dept. has this option), and you dont need to use net-account, then you can setup a reverse tunnel from home and proxy all your internet traffic through it. And internet access is FREE :-)

    This is the most fair breakdown of pricing I have ever seen in US or New Zealand. It makes a difference between speeds offered and the data limit. If only all the ISP's would follow this model, it would be so much easier for consumers to make decisions to choose the best plan for their needs.

    Right now they offer approx. 1GB for NZ$1 and this way if people who don't download too much will not be penalized(by subsidizing the heavy users.). Also, there is an unlimited data usage plan and a managed plan, where exceeding the limit throttles the connection to dial up speed.

    Apparently not. I RTFA and was amused to hear the CEO of a DRM company say how the lack of DRM was threating all business models. Ironic, given I don't see how DRM can "protect" any online video content that can be viewed on a computer. More snake oil.

    I even have CNN's own plugin for Firefox installed...but live streams will not play! Incidentally, the commercial before the the actual content (which is in Flash), plays fine. When it's over, what one sees is a black screen!

    The commercial plays fine, that's all what matters.

    So what? Last time I looked, people had heard of Google. And unlike Apple or most other companies, they seem to have achieved massive brand awareness with hardly any advertising.

    Funny, I keep seeing their ad. on that search engine everytime.

    I thought that there were only 4 essential freedoms required by a FOSS license.
