War is just a way for the ruling class to murder surplus men. Let the politicians kill each other instead, either directly or through the wars of assassins Frank Herbert depicted in Dune.
I personally think that Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with either Islam or with any legitimate grievances Middle Eastern governments may have with the US government. I think that the US government is paying scumbags like Bin Laden to mount the occcasional terror attack against the US in order to supply the US government with boogeymen it can use to justify its continued efforts to dismantle the Constitution and reduce the American people to serfdom, since the US government can no longer use Commies as an excuse. Islamic terrorism is the ultimate false-flag operation.
It used to be that every piece of shitware for Windows wants to install IE toolbars, but nobody tried to install trojans targeting Firefox because Firefox's market share was too small to be worth the effort. That has changed. Firefox is now relevant to malware coders, and therefore a target. Frankly, I think coattailware (unwanted software the rides the coattails of desirable or necessary software) like IE toolbars and unwanted FF extensions are nothing but malware, and should be opposed by any honorable means necessary.
It just figures that the one Star Wars movie that didn't suck harder than Miley Cyrus while getting her first record contract was the one that George Lucas didn't direct. Too bad Lucas had to direct the others.
The bastards responsible for 9/11 weren't demons. They were human beings who couldn't find decent jobs, couldn't get laid, and lived in an unstable and authoritarian society. These conditions made them vulnerable to being manipulated by anybody who offered them an explanation for their misery and a target for their rage.
I've read Musashi, Sun Tzu, and Machiavelli. All of them claim that the end justifies the means. However, we claim as Americans to be better than that. We claim to believe in that every human being possesses certain inalienable rights by virtue of his humanity. We cannot espouse such an ideal while also claiming that in war the end justifies the means. The two are contradictory.
They had plenty of time to invest their profits into upgrading the power grid to anticipate future demand, and didn't. Those short-sighted sons of syphilitic bitches can go fuck themselves with a Saturn V rocket and no lube.
Also, if you allow a nerd to be abused at school, he's going to learn that he should keep his guard up around strangers and thus appear "aloof" or "antisocial". Many nerds learn to be happy alone because the alternatives are suicide and mass murder.
We remember the ones that the cats didn't stop, but there probably would have been more.
Cats didn't stop the Black Death from massacring Europe because European Christians were demon-ridden idiots who thought that cats were servants of Satan, and should be killed.
A cat will open cupboards with its paws, and will even jump to open doors with lever-style handles.
One of my cats, Virgil, figured out how to unlatch knobbed doors. He then taught his brother Dante.
An old cat of mine, who died last February, used to turn off my tower computer by pressing his nose against the power button in front. When I rigged a molly guard to deter him, Buckwheat found the rocker switch on the back of the tower that cut off the power supply and learned to use that.
My mother's old cat, Lucky, would purr when he heard Iron Maiden. I caught him flipping through my CD rack once, pulling out CDs until he found an Iron Maiden album. He would then push it towards me and meow until I put it on for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if cats were more intelligent than most humans. After all, Milgram proved that most people will do whatever they're told if they think the order comes from a legitimate authority. Most cats understand that there are no legitimate authorities anywhere.
I can't prove it, but I suspect that the regional phone monopolies collude with each other and with the regional cable monopolies to engage in price fixing.
Splitting regional monopolies into local monopolies isn't the answer. The answer is to make the telecom infrastructure publicly owned. Any business that wants to offer net service may do so as long as it contributes to the maintenance and improvement of the network. Ensure through regulation and appropriate penalties that the government does not abuse the public trust by spying on the network without a warrant.
Yes, I know this sounds like socialism, but I'm tired of caring.
Verizon vs. Comcast isn't much of a choice. You're still picking between two monopolies, as Verizon holds a monopoly on fibre and POTS, and Comcast holds a monopoly on cable.
150 Mbps downstream is more than triple a T3 and you can get it to YOUR HOUSE for $200 a month? That is the best price / Mbps that you will find in the states.
Yeah, it's the best I'll find in the People's Christian Republic of Amerika. It's a depraved joke compared to the service one can get in civilized parts of Europe and Asia. Hell, I could probably get more bandwidth at a cheaper price in Canada or Australia.
I really need to get my shit together and emigrate. If I wait until the Bill of Rights is repealed, it'll probably be too late.
$195/month is the sort a price that only a monopoly can get away with demanding. Too bad nobody bothers to enforce the Sherman Antitrust Act these days.

...then you should ban flights out of Mexico.
A lot of tyrannical governments don't have reality TV to anaesthetize their subjects.

Did anybody ever tell you that you resemble Jack Nicholson's character in A Few Good Men?
In Soviet Amerika, we call the goons "lawyers".
Tell that to Christopher Hitchens.

Let's see how those bastards like it.

In the long run, it's cheaper and easier to just drive to Nevada every few months.

It's on the national scale that we enforce antitrust law.

It's also an occupational hazard among techies.
