I think anything to reduce the recidivism rate is a really good thing (at risk of sounding like the Northern California Bay Area native that I am) - I have severe concerns about the end results - as prisons are increasingly becoming a method of outsourcing within United States borders I could see this being a stepping stone towards a large minimally paid imprisoned work force. Uni-cor already outsources plenty of call-center activities to prison, and much of the clerical work for the government is being processed by prisoners paired with the increasing privatization of all aspect of incarceration - add up to greater incentives to having a large number of the population incarcerated.
Of course the non-alarmist part of me really like the idea of people learning, and hopes this program was created with good intentions - maybe the instructors could set-up a Github of some of the impressive work?
Again, the issue is that the cookies don't seem to be tied to a unique session, and thus can be used by non-authorized parties if they are able to grab an instance of your session.
Not to sound like a luddite or anything but can't you test this shit out on YOUR world not OURS? Because I don't want me and mine to fall into a black hole (even you for that matter). Lets solve some of our realistic problems before we create huger ones. No?
Its just a bit strange to me to have Microsoft acknowledge the problem, yet be so nonchalant about the fact that its because objects are handled by Active X. Okay back up. Last I checked Active X isn't a standard. Its just so lame the fact that things may look like they render correctly or have engineers trying to make one test pass (though crookedly). Its not standards compliant. Nuff said.

The issue here, is people are expecting their sessions to be tied to a unique cookie for authentication, and this isn't the case.
and it was annoying. When will companies learn? Not everyone wants to be tethered to the internet to run their apps...
really?
