It's still a different culture. It's not mind-numbingly different, but it's still different. Granted, it's not the same as being dropped in the middle of the African continet with the tribe that speaks in tounge clicking. I've spent a week in Italy, and it wasn't any more jarring than a week in Las Vegas.
Well, a lot of Americans go to Canada and the Caribbean areas. And the US is big and diverse enough that a New Yorker visiting CA or Texas is put into a very different culture. But if you're referring to going off-continent, that's a bit pricy since you must fly in addition to other expenses.
We need a simpler system, from user interfaces to system design. Of course, this would piss off all the 'power' users.

There are commercial full hard drive encryption programs available from Winmagic, PC Guardian, and Pointsec. And you don't need to deal with any funky WMware.
No no. Think of flamingos. They eat a lot of shrimp, and turn pink. Therefore, we'd feed cows a lot of blueberries, shrimp, grass, and so forth, and the cows will turn blue, pink, and green. Logic!:D
Ignoring the fact that this will not happen anytime soon if at all...:)
I doubt Apple would partner with Dell. Those two haven't exactly had a loving relationship. Michael Dell very much doesn't like Apple. I'd say it would be more likely Apple would partner with Sony, HP, or Gateway, in that order. Sony seems like the most likely since they have been pushing firewire. HP only because Apple licensed their printer design before so there is a relationship there. Gateway because of the Gateway Country stores which Apple recently started their own version.
"The Gulf of Mexico--according to British Petroleum engineers--have an amazingly large amount of oil yet to be exploited. The only reason why we haven't gotten more is the high expense of drilling for oil well into the Gulf of Mexico."
No that's more politicial than economical. Good luck getting a proposal to drill in the gulf through congress without the environmentalists flipping out. We can't even get some drilling in a remote frozen section of hell in Alaska.
This is why...before you sign something...you read it first. Especially when it involves borrowing a $12,000-$30,000 piece of equipment. Duh. Ignorance is no excuse.
Let's say, for the sake of stupid arguments, that the cost of fiber and cat5E for a decent sized network without any special needs is equal, even though they are not. And lets say that the cost to terminate both cables cost the same, even though they are not.
An exercise for the readers. How much does a 100baseF network card cost compared to a 100baseT? How much does a 24-port 100baseF switch cost compared to 24-port 100baseT switch?
Of course there is something to be said about pulling unterminated fiber at the same time as the cat5E for future use, but that's a different argument about future expansion/possibilities.
Books tend to have more credibility and research behind them than web sites (not always of course). Plus you might have to search quite a while to find all the info in a book as on the web.
Here's another fun one. Find where in the constitution it spells out exactly that a government created & sponsored public education system is required.
I don't recall completely all the details about how it works, and it was about a month ago. However I thought it was pretty spiffy at the show. I'm not sure about the random stream for the keys and would rather not guess an answer, especially with security:). In the demo I saw there was a password that needed to be entered for it to work, which would affirmatively answer your second question. Check their website or call. Keep in mind this setup requires each machine to have an accessible USB port (assuming you use a USB token of course), and the commercial SSH (not OpenSSH).
Thanks for the info. Something else cool, SSH with Tokens. I saw a demo at N+I on the commercial SSH 3.0 by SSH Communications. You need to have a token (such as an e-Aladdin USB eToken) plugged in during the entire session. If the token is removed, the shell instantly drops.
"I mean who's ever heard of a .net going under?"
:-)
Worldcom.
Wouldn't that also cause extra load on the slashdot web servers, or is gzip a really cheap operation?

The aliens are more advanced than us, and know the merits and benefits of eating a whole wheat diet.
You missed one

I think I remember AOL having a limit on the size of an email attachment and the whole mailbox as well. Aren't these limits in effect?
Command line and text is not always the best solution either. There is nothing inherently inferior to using a GUI in and of itself.

I'd wager dollars to donuts that the fires in the US West are outputting more pollution than all the SUVs sold in the past 3 years.

You know the failure rate for self crimped patch cables are somewhere between 30-70%, give or take 25%. :-D
There are now quite a few DVD players with a built in VHS VCR for playback and recording.

If these ladies were young enough to pose for Playboy, then they probably lost around $10 from their retirement funds. :-)
Are you describing aliens or God? :-)

Plus the majority in power are only guarenteed for two years, then another election comes.

Does it exist or is anyone working on AES for scp?
