    For the record OO, also has a clause that stops it being fully GPL, thats why neo office code cant be used, because sun want to take open source contributions and use them in their proprietary version of open office

    OpenOffice has a clause that you have to sign so that they can add it to closed source products, thats why neo office cant contribute to OpenOffice

    CDDL deliberaly chosen to be GPL incompatible, and as a bonus allow them to release close sourced modules for it if they decide open source isn't for them

    Oh wait ofc it does, youve basically got science which is fundamentally open source.
    Then youve got a bunch of scientists who are fundamentally geeks
    And its all being setup in Europe, which isnt as under the grip of MS

    As a bonus
    They need to ability to look back and explain all their analysis which means they have to see the source
    It costs a hell of a lot to get the data so they dont want to loose any data anywhere.
    They have a lot of results to analyse so they dont want to be waiting for the server to come back on-line.
    Could they of gone with BSD? probably, but most science tools are developed for linux.

    Even someone who is unfamiliar with the trivia can use Google, which the machine cannot. anything simple enough to answere after a google search, is also findable by a computer using google
    google questions:
    get top 30 answers sites
    removed all common words & words in the questions & previously wrong answers
    *remove topic words (this may require some programming, but nothing as hard as OCR)
    use most used word as answer
    feed this back into a database of right/wrong answerers

    *as long as there arnt too many questions this step isnt needed

    every step apart from removing topic words can go into a fairly simple bash script, its not terribly efficient but it uses alot less CPU than OCR, so if you send it out to a bot net its going to get noticed less.

    Plus this does nothing to stop quiz for porn, infact its easier to trick somebody into doing a quiz for porn than it is a capatcha for porn

    Id go further id say they heaven lists being rotting worm food as a dependence.
    It conflicts with hell (some body should probably tell bush that) which also depends on rotting.
    The dependency on purgatory was recently removed though
    It may have some conflicting libraries with atheism, but nobody is quite sure what the libraries do or which libraries it uses, so it s often safe to ignore this conflict.

    Ive always planned on being buried upright in a cardboard box, and my mother whos fairly religious has no problem with that. Arguing against this on religious grounds, is like arguing against organ donation on religious grounds (except for those religious which actually prohibit it), its not religious its just that there's a large overlap between people that people who dont want to donate organs and religious people.

    The important thing with this and organ donation, is to tell your family, thats what you want to do, because otherwise it wont happen/will upset them.

    p.s i wonder if they'll upload the data to googleearth?

    Im using Firefox3 beta5, would be a shame if the mac version didn't have that setting, seams pretty essential to a web browser to follow system settings (especially for corporate environments)

    The thing is at these emails actually have relevance to the case, bad attitude and real bad attitude were nothing other than rants with no technical/buisness dealing in them, and microsoft still subpoena them.

    In memory of mozilla, about:mozilla should have something really fitting in firefox 3:

    When it comes to suicide bombers theyre unlikely to have gang tattoos, but i may be wrong. More importantly you dont want to wait till a suicide bomber is guilty, you want to monitor them before theyre guilty and stop them. Youd have to be some sort of religious nut to care if he was guilty or not after hes dead.

    I dont have a Mac but have under linux you have 5 options
    No proxy (no good for you)
    Auto Detect (not sure why this wont work for your network?)
    Use system settings (this might be new but would defiantly work)
    Manual (no good for you)
    automatic proxy configuration url (would open them up to abuse on open networks)

    Sounds good in theory, but given most people live to 80, it leaves you with a 70 year gap. Especially as its not kids that get phished but usually people who spent the first 40/50/60 years of thier life without a PC

    actually travelling faster than the speed of light is less possible than time travel, as there are some theoretical methods to send a message back in time but none that go faster than light.

    In the "blacklist" mode these silly add-ons are not likely to be nearly as safe as just having a clue. But 100% better than not having a clue, anti-phising tools help those that dont even know about the status bar.

    p.s safari could learn a thing from fission, I do quite like the safari look, plus its not hard to pop the address into the status bar on hover.
