hibernate works (well its a horribly designed hack on all linux but it works) suspend varies by computer, but for most it works (occasionally the screen will not resume on some chipsets, but that is being worked on) mint is ubuntu but with a couple of extra repos and prop drivers by default.

For KDE 4 users, JuK is the default media player for audio media. While Dragon Player is the default for video. Both are great applications, preforming their task well. Interrestingly many of the load complainers against Amaroks design, describe the way JuK works.
I don't think many people consider juk/noatun competition for amarok as a serious music manager, last time i used it it was nowhere near feature par with amarok 1.4. in particular
my biggest reason not to use a2 - inability to place collection next to my playlist (at least last i was interested in that).

For anybody interested how this interacts with all the pro linux movements from the EU recently, well its completely orthogonal Switzerland is not a member of the EU.
