Agree with Letharion. The life expectancy of oil was 10-20 years back in the 1920s. Try reading The Age of Oil. We really don't know how much oil there is down there, but it's not running out anytime soon.
That's a bet you would lose. The FAA has a new license for crafts like these that's much easier to get than a traditional pilot's license. It's the whole reason these vehicles are being built now.
No. The FAA has a new license category, I believe called Sport Light. It's easier to get and does not require an air traffic controller. This new license is what has been driving (no pun intended) the production of these new flying cars/roadable aircraft.
We all die deaths. Most of them are pointless meaningless wasted deaths that no one will know about, let alone remember. I don't think I would call that luck; or at least not the kind of luck I would ever care to have myself.
I don't how strong a bat is, but I doubt he was able to hang on that long. My guess is his claws gave out, he slid and clawed is way down the tank, and went out in a huge blaze of glory with the whole world watching and wondering.
I know, it's like these people read Kafka for ideas on how to F things up.
OT, but I once had a friend in the Marine Corps who had his clearance suspended due to an investigation into his supposed leaking of classified information (for which he was eventually cleared). The investigation contained Secret information, so they couldn't show him the charges that were pressed against him. We had some good laughs about Kafka, especially once it was all over.
While I support this move and people's rights to model rocketry, what you and your friends can cook up in your basement will never match my M-4. I can snipe from hundreds of yards or clear a house or shoot from the window of my car. I can also carry it slung tight in front with both hands free and carry hundreds of rounds quite easily. Meanwhile DoD has spent millions trying to get missiles to work properly. Good luck trying to get that to work on your own. And when you do, I'll kick down your door and take it from you. Just because it's new doesn't make it better.
Keep thinking that digital is better than film. Some pros still use film, simply because it's better quality (the rest seem to prefer quantity). Some U2 spy planes still use film because digital can't approach, let alone beat, the quality of the image. It takes longer to get the film out, scan it, etc, but the 40yr old film tech is still the best thing we have.
OK, I don't get all of that, but my reaction to those who complain about low-light is to get a flash. Need more light? Get a bigger flash. It's not like this problem hasn't been solved before.
There's also times when I want to silhouette something. With my 35mm, that's easy. Just underexpose it. With a typical digital, it's impossible. Or maybe I want to stop the waterfall, or have it blurry. Or have a timed exposure at night on a tripod to show the motion of the stars. Again, most digitals are useless for these kinds of shots. Seems like people today (not just kids) have forgotten what photography used to be able to do. We used to take 24 or 36 great shots with our cameras. Now we take thousands of crappy ones. And get off my lawn!
You'd be surprised how easy it is get to sleep after eating a few babies. Knocks me right out. And I work in the intelligence community if that makes any difference to you.
The FBI has been one of the most technophobic federal agencies, if not THE most, being one of the last to finally get computers. Their regional offices do not coordinate with each other, so that an investigation into a New Orleans drug trafficking network will have no way of knowing about an investigation into a Seattle drug trafficking network involving the same people (which actually happened, IIRC). And it's only been since after 9/11 that they've really tried to have people at the HQ try to put pieces to together. Their focus has been on having field agents run investigations, not analysts like myself. That's just my $.02 anyway, YMMV, etc.
Except we're finding cheaper ways to exploit everything else, so the supply of "cheap" oil keeps expanding.

This isn't made for daily commuting; it's made for long-distance travel. Nice strawman though.
And that's the point of at least one of the videos.
It's a direct match to the signal in Qatar!
Cut all server hardlines now!

Lucky fucker.
the popularity of computer science majors among college freshmen and sophomores is because IT has better job prospects than other specialties
How does that make it cool? It sounds more like desperation.
Maybe it's both. I've worked for some people that were probably best described as cockroaches, so...

M-4s fire .233 rifle ammo. Carbines fire pistol ammo. Thanks for contributing, anonymous coward moron.

I want a digital camera to do what my 35mm camera does best. Multiple shots in quick succession and ability to adjust F stop and shutter speed.
What about King Kong for wrecking the Empire State Building and downloading pirated music?
No, I think we should collaborate and listen.
Dam that's funny.
The joke is that you couldn't read the first 4 words of TFS. A new low for /..

I guess you'd know a troll when you see one...
