I'm a gov't employee and I won't support anything that comes from a vendor in a MS-only format. I can nearly guarantee it won't even be opened unless it is straight text.
Put that in your boss's pipe and have him/her smoke it.
I'd have to agree w/ #1 on the above list. When I came across userfriendly, pennyarcade, and joy of tech, I was able to search many previous installments and find some that I found humorous.
The site listed didn't have that many previous attempts for me to view. when I look through the back strips, something has to make me laugh my ass off before bookmarking the site and trying to remember to visit again.
My list of comic requirements: 1) Must make me laugh.
If your strip does that, then someone somewhere will send me a link to a strip that they think I'll think is funny. Word of mouth/email of hand is the best way to get a comic strip into the public's eye.
You may not find that 'hidden gem' just by listening to store music. Not all stores carry all artists. P2P usually does though. I've actively sought out and bought music I found from artists I wouldn't have known about if it weren't for P2P.
That's not to say that I've liked all I've found. The good are far less than the bad. I'm glad I did find them though.
That shouldn't work. Any worthwhile VPN setup will disallow network connections that don't travel trough the tunnel. This is why the submitter needs a 'network-less' connection to share the information.
For folks who arelooking for information about high order explosives, do searches about "fulminated mercury". Tamping (basically just packing or the compression of explosives) doesn't move it into the realm of high order, just cause the blast to be more potent.

Sounds good. What happens if he wants to work from home though?
>> When a workstation has been detected to be infected with a virus, or spyware, remotely set the gateway for that workstation to 127.0.0.1, disable the switch port the workstation is connected to, and set the dhcp record in the dhcp server specific to the mac address for the workstation to also set the gateway to 127.0.0.1 until the workstation has been cleaned.
What happens when the virus/worm/what-have-you wants to infect machines on the local subnet. A gateway is not necessary to access machines on the same subnet.

Readonly? Why? so someone else can open an infected file? Maybe allow directory scans, but to allow readonly access means you have an inkling there may be a virus around. With that knowledge, you should take all precautions. That would include blocking read access as well.
Can the cockpit windows have a safety coating applied instead of the pilot wearing glasses. Would tint the look of the world outside the plane, but wouldn't hinder looking at the interior all that much.

But, most of those that bookmark the site forget about the site. That makes the progression more arithmetic than geomteric.
I realize that the user stated they were only concerned w/ CPU load. Storage devices also generate significant heat when large transfers are occuring.
Maybe run an instance of Bonnie. This is a benchmarking tool for storage issues. It can be found at http://www.textuality.com/bonnie/

What doesn't work? what do you expect the results to be?
What platform are you running hping2 from?
Is there any net equipment between you and the workstation?
What is incorrect about it?
The problem might be w/ your code.
A test listed in an above comment of mine worked for my box. DL hping2 and try:
hping2 aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd -s 135 -p 135 -S -a aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
Obviously, replace aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd w/ the ip address of the workstation you'd like to test
On my XP box w/ SP2 + no firewall:
for up to 30 seconds after the attack , I can move the mouse, but cannot click on anything.
All network activity stops during that time also.
Grab a copy of hping2 and try:
hping2 aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd -s 135 -p 135 -S -a aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
Obviously, replace aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd w/ the ip address of the workstation you'd like to test
no. Nobody really _had_ to say. You just decided to. It stopped being funny 12 months ago.

How is that a troll?
:)
Letting someone know they can get the service/goods elsewhere for nothing is a troll?
You, Moderator, are a jackass. (or have some connection w/ the site and think it'll actually turn a profit) Eiter way, you're clueless.
I'm ready to by a network-enabled, clue-by-four, anyone have some available?
Kinda' cute.
:)
User is from "Opensource-strategies.com" and already is trying to make a profit!!
The first thing people see when visiting the website is a plea for users to understand that no fraud exists on with respect to this organization.
Then you're business is selling copies of iso's people can dl for free?
Might I suggest changing the domain name to "ripoff-strategies.com"????
Young'ins!!!!!!
The state isn't trying to outdo CA by itself. It is trying to garner support from other entities so the taxpayers won't be footing the whole bill.
I think NJ is heading in the right direction. Let the state be a catalyst and organizer instead of just Mr. Deep Pockets.
Now if tey would only start issuing those "shall issue" permits, life would be grand.
Garlic was fun.
Tomatoes were useful.
Corn was unwieldly after a bit,
Peanuts are next on the list.
Plants like these are a great way to break up the day and increase pleasure in the office.
Actually New Jersey may be the top dog funding stem cell research.

Hey, what the heck does yur reply have to do w/ the parent comment????
Offtopic should also be the correct moderation for comments like this. Stop piggybacking on highly rated comments and start your own thread.
Yes, I know this comment will turn my god like karma into mud. I do think it's important enough to blow it though!!
Later all.

It's not 'elitism'. It's just Unix being user friendly!!!
:)
What Unix isn't user friendly??? Of course it is. It is just picky about who its friends are.

Good idea.

If it was going to take that long, I'd throw up another box, point an mx record to it and hold the email there.
Would look more professional that eveyone getting email around the lines of "Your email could not be sent for the past X hours......"
Sendmail will do this almost out of the box if MX records are correct.
Also funny is the fact that if click on the submitter's name, it takes you to a page that lists his email address without any obfuscation.
He must be wanting to test out his theory again.
I disagree. Unlike the unsuspecting females I've offered them to recently, I think they knew exactly what it means. :)
