Transmeta already has Effecon out which runs at similar speeds and wattage. The Sharp MM20 has the Transmeta chip inside. It only weighs 2 lbs and is very thin.
I never knew scientist's were so perfect. Sorry to burst your bubble but scientist's are human too. You believe in science books that talk about stars that are millions of miles away and dinosaurs that roamed the earth millions of years ago and the Bible is the book of fairy tales?
Most scientist are atheists and choose that because its the intellectual thing to do. Most try to prove there is no God. It's funny that people don't understand how people can believe stuff in the Bible but they have no trouble believing in theories in a textbook that can't be proven either.
Is it really that big of a surprise? Did you think they would get it perfect the first time it comes out? The question is whether the Redhat lovers of the world will fix it up or just buy Suse?
Any day now? hahahaha. You mean they will paper launch it any day now. Rumored to be $925 in lots of 1000. Add a couple hundred dollars unless you work for a reseller. I didn't see any AMD benchmarks till the day it was released. AMD has not lost. P4EE is not out YET. It can't lose to something that is not out yet.
Have you seen the infamous Extreme Edition? When's it coming out? How much does it cost? Has any one besides THG benchmarked one? I call that very biased. Benchmarking something thats not out yet. It's not out and that is why AMD wins.
I have both Nvidia and ATI cards so I'm not a ranting fanboy. The forceware drivers did improve the image quality but at the cost of performance. THG had to finally admit ATI was good when it was getting 50 to 100% better benchmarks. Its funny you bring up AMD and Intel. AMD is winning right now and THG still doesn't want to admit that.
Nvidia is far from image quality kings. The ATI stuff is bugs not cheats. Nvidia in fact has some problems with the same games. Of course you won't hear that at Nvidia's Editors Day or on Tom's Hardware.
So how has Debian lasted so long? They have over 8,000 packages available for download. People donate bandwidth because they use Linux for free and programmers do the same with there time. Linus didn't get any money to start Linux. Redhat started the pay for linux thing.
I would go with the 2500+ barton. They didn't overclock very well when they first came out but they have improved lately. The 1700+ and 2100+ are also very good overclockers. They don't have the extra cache like the bartons but most applications show very little performance improvement with the extra cache.
Motherboard temp sensors can be off a lot. On my Abit NF7-S they had to fix it in a bios update because it was off by up to 10C. Your 1800+ might also have the Palomino core which ran extremely hot. A good HSF and arctic silver are very good at lowering temps. I have a 2100+ running at 3200+ speeds with full load temp being 52C.
Was I dreaming when Loki tried and failed to do only native ports? Wow, 3 ports in the last year. I'm impressed. I'll just stop playing games because holding out for more linux games will help the cause. Wrong! Get people to install linux will help to get more native ports. In the mean time they can use WineX to play games.
People are paying $1500 for a 500mhz notebook? Performance is better than that. How much is Efficeon compared to Geode?

A non-partisan news item thats makes fun of Bush. Has the liberal double talk become that bad in America?
Note for non-partisan moderators: This is funny not flamebait
Wow...that's not flamebait? But the well written response to it is flamebait?
Dead Sea Scrolls and Flavius Josephus.
Just cause the proof isn't taught in public schools or colleges doesn't mean its not there.
Wow. I could write that after every post about religon on slashdot.
Thats my point. People take them as the truth when they are just a theory.

I wonder who Tom's favorite networking company will be?
Hint: Start with "I" and ends with "ntel"

It helps if your competitors don't sue you out of business like Creative did to Aureal.
Did Slashdot just discover Tom's Hardware this week?
It probably helped when they sued the 12-year old girl. Now I'm scared to have a mp3 on my computer.

You don't have to worry about them making money.

Isn't Intel the company that had to recall their new chip because it wasn't stable?
