was pouring hot bowls of grits down the unsuspecting audience's pants !!!
Your not too far from the truth. The ending was not predictable. This is simply because it was so retarded that nobody would have expected anyone to ever do anything this bad with such a big budget movie.
There are plenty of things that are wrong with this movie. First off, it lacks Kevin Williamson, and shows in a big way. It's just not as fun to watch. Did Kreuger (heh) even see the first two movies? Secondly, some of the charactprs were only there to be played by big name actors. Jenny McCarthy added *nothing* to the movie. Not to mention the fact that Cortney Cox-Arquette looks like an elfish 8-year-old boy with cancer. The only reason I paid to get in was the Jay and Silent Bob cameo.
This should NOT have been called scream three, it's nowhere NEAR a final release. Maybe Scream 2.3 Beta.
Exactly. Don't get me wrong here, I'm a HUGE Linux fan. I push it to my customers like a dealer with a new kind of crack. But I'm starting to feel like all we do is play catch-up. We get drivers after winX. We either port or clone existing apps we find useful. We petition codec makers and hardware vendors for drivers and ports. We even make programs to run windows apps. What technology have we really *contributed* to the community? Sure, there may be some awesome apps out there that you can only get on Linux, but in most cases, you can find something comperable on win. The problem is that we have tried to mount a revolution on old technology. While the spirit of the community is certainly abundant, I don't feel we have concentrated enough on *new* technology. We need to introduce something so spectactular, that windows users will be emailing us asking for a port, or drivers.
We have the initiative, and the talent. What we don't have is a sense of direction. Again, don't get me wrong. I think that Linux has become a beautiful example of what rebels can do. There are some awesome apps, and, admittedly, there are some crappy ones. Perhaps this recent comercialization will provide us with the funds to dedicate to the cause. Either way, we still have a ways to go before the revolution.
PS - Why don't I make the super-app that will bring down the giant and revolutionize todays technology? Because I'm lazy and I'm still learning C:)
Fear of embracing change ? Wow, that sounds familliar.
Kind of like the zealous group of people who refuse to go from console based operating systems from the 60's (or 70's?) and leap into todays pool of graphical user interfaces?
As much as this sounds like flamebait, I'm asking a serious question. Are we Linux users trying to initiate change in todays markets and practices, or are we just clinging to old technology with few new drivers?
I'd like to see some thoughts on this (although I'm sure I know what some will have to say).
And BTW, someone wanna tell what's up with all the ASCII art?
why the hell did disney not release this on ordinary theatres ? what made them think that a movie like this would do well or even look good being shown on NOTHING but iMacs screens ?
i havent seen the new iMacs, but i dont think the screens are any bigger than 17 inches.
who the fu... oh wait. sorry. text to speech didnt catch that:) my bad
i once read an interview with nintendo owner somethinginajapanesethaticantrememberbutimsureitha satleast12n'sinit.
it went into a little background on what nintendo use to do for a living.
Playing cards Board Games a Taxi Service a Whore House
im serious on this, so please dont mark me down. they *actually* ran a whore house. when nagasakhammomotoyoshikawasakisonymonkey first saw the atari, and pong, he started thinking video games. he saw the kids plunking quarters and realized the kind of cash he could make.
he used to put his developers in teams, and have them compete against each other. the best game was released, and the others were thrown away.
so keep in mind, the next t ime your child wants a nintendo game/console, that the Nintendo company used to run a whore house. betcha we never see a game like that.
The whole idea of 'free software' is free software. Whether i get the source or not isnt as important as free. Besides, if they give us a free product, they will probably be giving us the source soon anyways. And if not, who cares ? The world needs more Beerware.
I know that when we want to submit a story so that it can be denied, we have to preview it at least once. Is there not some sort of function like that for the actual authors ? Or do they think they're better than us ?
If this is anything like a black hole, extremely dense. So much so that by earths gravitational standards, a single teaspoon of it would weigh several thousand tons. Now I've also heard theories that dark matter is the same as anti-matter (not sure of the validity), in which case it would be undense:)
Its good to see Linux getting something before anyone else. I think this is the first time a commercial grade product has been released for Linux before any other OS, but one thing has me bothered.
and to push Linux into the new technology before The Other OS
I think I can figure out what the other OS is. My question is this: If the boys in Redmond decide they don't like playing second fiddle, what could they do to kill this standard ? Would it be possible for them to kill this standard (like what they tried to do to Jav), and try ti implement something else in it's place ? It seems a bit rediculous to do such a thing just because they werent first. But it wouldn't be the first time.
i am karmas bitch. all of my intelligent commants get lost in the shuffle, and never get moderated up or down. the stupid ones get noticed right away. moderators are on crack and have no sense of humor
go ahead and moderate this post down. ill see you in hell
they are no longer assimil^H^H^H^H^H^H^Haffiliated with aol/apple.
i think that if we want to take a step towards userfriendliness, then this is the way to go. if anyone knows user friendly its aol and apple. haveing members of those teams cross over should be considered a huge victory for our side
as it stands now, my mother can *use* kde. i just bring down the top bar and sidepush the the bottom and it looks and feel enough like windows to keep her happy. staroffice also helps this.
the real questions are' -can my mother install this ? -better yet, can she reinstall it when needed ? -can she easily *un*install it ? -will it run on her 486 ? -i *cam* use sandpaper to wipe my ass, but it wont be comfortable. so even if she can use this, how comfortable will she be ?

With enough money, you can buy anyone.
I hear Sun Microsystems just signed a deal with the BSD Devil.
Followup:
I just signed for a package. It contains Tux's left foot. *sob* Install win2k! It's the only way to save him!
I just recieved a ransom note. It reads:
"pleeze put m1cr0s0ft wind0ze 2000 on all y0r bawks3z 0r eye will k1ll tha p3nquin -mr gat3s-"
I think it's Bill, but given the spelling and grammar, it may be our own CmdrTaco

However, we do tend to like sticking with the old

There are some things in life that are just better served by dedicated special purpose devices rather than a multipurpose PC running Unix.
get a rope
hey, this'll make it cheaper to make a beowolf cluster out of whatever the last article was about :D
