I generally don't like artists after the RIAA gets a hold of them. Look at the track record of almost any band. The longer they have been produced, the more they start to suck.
God, you socialists are all the same. If there is oppression in the middle-east, it must be our fault. The US is not out to harm all of the litte countries. Did you ever stop to think that maybe they are just stupid and cause their own problems? We just get pissed when their problems effect us.

I agree with you on everythig except one thing. Why Windows? Man, make the switch. Linux is so much better.
I don't know. I've always kind of liked Storm. I'll miss them, it was a good distro. They were great for giving to people that don't know Linux and just want to get started with it.
What do you mean newbie? kwsNI is not a newbie, he is a slashdot grandpa. We have been on/. since before Redhat was trying to take Microsoft's place as most hated developer by Linux users.
Before you go off spouting your mouth, you might want to stop being a troll for 1 minute and take something seriously for a change. kwsNI has a point, as does Sig11./. is hurt. Rob has messed up the system to try to optomize usage for VA Linux. It's not an OSS site anymore, the news sucks and the posts come from people, who quite honestly, are mostly idiots.
In his comment, the author comments that this makes the issue in the U.S. look less significant. That's not the case. It's still government overstepping it's bounds. No government has any right to step in and make rules for kids, that should be up to the parents to decide. Just because something is more wrong than another, we can't just turn our heads and say oh well, it could be worse. If we do that, it will be worse soon.
One distribution is IMNSHO a dumb idea. That's like car enthusiasts getting excited about a new standard of "one car fit's all".
We're in this for the technology, that'll bever fly.
Taco, if you want to run your mouth about GWB, you could at least say why. He is a GREAT candidate. While his father was in office, technology flourished (unhindered by the government I might add).
Sure they would, they have better things to do besides make websites. Like the business they are supposed to be running (which is less accessible after Razorfish finished it).
They have every right to sue if Razorfish did not make a reasonable attempt to remedy the situation after the complaint was brought to their attention.
It just goes to show that the K6-3 was AMDs best processor to date, with it's nice L3 cache support and company die size. The PIII vs. Athlon thing is dumb, I have a PIII and I still like my K6-3 better (it get's to run Linux). What they need to stop doing is worrying about making PCs affordable for the lower class, and keep making innovative processors. That's MHO anyway. Of course, I do tech support, so I am sick of most lower class PC owners.

Um, No actualy, I know that. Maybe you should study the entire evolution of the internet. All I am saying is that the thing (network) that was for sharing info has grown and been turned into a virtual commercial.

IMHO, the web (ARPANET) was started as a means of sharing information and ideas. It was used to get important data from one point to another quickly and conviently. Now it is used as an "expression" of ones self and for money. People are selling stuff and wanting money for everything on their site. I agree, that a website needs to be attractive to keep people there, but the content is what matters. I also hate intro pages. Yes, we all know how to do an intro page, but how many times do you go to a website and then think to yourself "wait, do I really want to go to this site". I know I don't, when I go to a site it is for content, not the oooh ahhh effect.
That's my $.02

he actually gives his property to his employer for free. I would not do that.
I have to agree here, most companies have an intellectual property clause that states anything you design while even working for them becomes there's. I would simply tell them that the program they are using is GPLd and that to continue using it, they need to sign a waiver stating that the program is yours and they cannot claim intellectual property rights to it. If they won't do it, I personally would tell them that I don't want to do any more work on the program for them, as it is GPLd and you feel it belongs to the community, not them.

Our IT Dept consists of the following for the 500 users at our site:
1 Dumbass IT field services manager 1 A+ Certified field tech 1 MCSE that thinks he's hot shit (he just quit) 1 Kid we call screwdriver boy (I'm not sure what he does, but he came to fix a video driver issue with a screwdriver, hence the nick) and some guy that's always in the build room.
Thankfully most teams have at least one rep with the skills to keep the systems working.

The RIAA is bad business and it's bad for music.
This makes me want to get a Broadband connection just to pump out more of my 7000 MP3s.
These people are just ridiculous.
