I think that perhaps the Ti leaves have something to do with the cook time of said goose. I don't know what kind of constitution these leaves have....but if after being surrounded by molten lava and allowed to sit for 45 minutes(admittedly while the lava is consistently cooling around it), some of those leaves are still uncharred, I imagine they are acting as an excellent insulator against the external heat. I would recommend a thermometer or something to measure the internal temp of said bird while cooking which, if wired(are there wireless thermometers or ones that will record temperature's over periods of time independantly????)could be run out the steam vent. If you monitor the internal temperature I expect you'll find it isn't nearly as hot as the external lava surrounding it. I want to insulate my house with Ti leaves.
Have you all noticed the earlier slashdot story involving Turner CEO where he accuses all PVR owners of being theives? Did you then notice AOL partnering with TIVO? Did you happen to link the fact that Turner is a part of AOL Time Warner? Just a thought to brighten your day with the stupidity of others!!;)
Has anyone dealt with or know how these people deal with the problem of shock to Hard Drive's in cars? How do they keep it from getting scratched or damaged when you go over a bump or some crap like that. Hard Drive's were never made to be moved around while accessing that I know of.
I dislike Hard Drive devices because I am rather hard on my electronics and I can't see the HD surviving very long while I carry the damn thing everywhere. The cd based MP3 players also bother me because I would rather not have to burn off a new disc everytime I find something I like and download it. On Amazon you can still find the good-ole Rio Player http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005NIMH/ qid%3D1002007984/sr%3D1-19/ref%3Dsr%5F1%5F7%5F19/1 07-8040907-5533359 which is fairly cheap compared to the other things you see out there and is expandable with Smart Media cards which are everywhere and also mount as a drive on your computer or laptop. This was Pre SDMI and is the only real solution for the economically challenged who want the quick fix.
There was a book called the First Immortal which in my opinion kicked ass.......though the time span for this stuff has come sooner then the book predicted. This is fucking cool though..now if we could just take care of this government bullshit.....
I work in a military Video Production facility....for all of our non linear editing we use Avid which runs on a Mac platform and comes packaged complete with all software and hardware neccessary with the exception of the drives...you must buy the extended drive storage arrays's specifically from Avid which allow you to store all the media that gets digitized. Now that is the only real sucky part about Avid's. The service has been excellent. They don't crash ever really either. We have one other edit machine. A "linear" I say it with quotes because it is semi linear semi non. Officially linear though. The company we purchased it from was Play. It is called the Trinity system running a Clone made by Intergraph computers......OS is NT 4.0 450Mhz CPU Intel Pentium 3. The actual Switcher is Software based which controls the hardware that all your equipment plugs into. It comes in two seperate units...the clone the runs the software and the box that houses the hardware interfaces. Total of 196 Megs of RAM (I am sorry the specs are so random I am typing as I think of it). I personally think it sucks ass....the Panamation function crashes constantly and there is all kinds of little bugs throughout the system. It contains too little functionality with too high a rate of errors in the program and OS itself to make it dependable. But then again anything run under a windows platform is bound to crash. I would recommend Avid. The mac version if you can still get it..they were switching to NT. Byron Email byron150@home.com
I happen to have an AMD K62-350 with a Viper V770 and 64 megs of PC-100 RAM. A Maxtor regular IDE and I haven't noticed lag at all.....you've been smokin the good stuff again haven't you??? PS I run high res too.
What I believe the good man is trying to say is that the mass collection of information, if misused(as he percieves it to be misused), is terrifying...now to me this sounds like he is trying to back up control of the masses by limiting the amount of information they have access to which is basically what the government has been about anyways in recent years. I would love for him to define his perception of misuse. Misused so that it puts a hole in his nice happy little lifestyle whereas he can work the system to his advantage without anybody knowning any better or misused in that people might start thinking for themselves and this may change society and the world as he knows it and he doesn't know if he can handle that.
The Marine's are allowed to touch Electrical things??????? This is NOT GOOD!!!!!

I could be wrong but Everquest is pretty close to the snowcrash metaverse..it is basically a meeting place with a complex game built in.
